Who now leads the lists of heavy weights who: Regularly lose Never get stopped Always earn their money Clearly these fighters are the back bone of the business and should get more recognition. What name would you put forward as the elite heavy weight journeyman?
Hard to think of any but the one i remember at prsent when someone says heavyweight journeyman is Zuri Lawrence :huh
Marion Wilson This content is protected + This content is protected + This content is protected = 57 Went the distance with Mercer, Golota, Johnson, Briggs, Ikeabuchi, Maskaev, Rahman, Peter and McCall. ****, Tommy was faster.
Oliver McCall Chazz Witherspoon Samuel Peter Tony Thompson Hasim Rahman Larry Donald Oleg Maskaev Ezra Sellers Derrick Jefferson Robert Hawkins Ike Ibeabuchi Orlin Norris Carl Williams Greg Page Andrew Golota Shannon Briggs Kirk Johnson Ray Mercer Vaughn Bean David Izon Jeremy Williams Tyrell Biggs Francois Botha List of guys Marion Wilson has fought. He actually got a draw with Ray Mercer aswell. He's never been knocked out or legimately stopped. The only times he hasn't been the distance are against McCall in one of the 2 fights, when he lost via DQ, same against Izon, against Larry Donald when he lost a 5 round technical decision, and his only stoppage early on in his career against a 9-0 prospect on cuts. He's also beaten a few unbeaten guys like Paea Wolfgramm who was 14-0 at the time, and like I said a draw with Ray Mercer etc.
Everett "Bigfoot" Martin (20-39-1) is another legend. Dwight Quai Foreman Coetzer Damiani Bowe Witherspoon (a win!!) Bonecrusher Smith Tony Tucker Larry Holmes Herbie Hide Lance Whiticker Wlad Klit (x2) Lamon Brewster Frez Oquendo Luan Krasniqi Sergei Lyachovich Ruslan Chagaev Stopped a few times, but not alot considering the competition. Retired for a while now, but a workhorse through the 90's into early 2000.
As for "active", probably Sedreck Fields. I'm sure he'll be quitting soon, but he's faced most of the current decent hw's and a good number of past ones (don't feel like typing them out). Not a lot of stoppages and a win over a prime-ish Shannon Briggs. http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=15718&cat=boxer
