Frankie gavin would've been a good one. I can remember him winning everything in the amateurs and then going into the olympics all the uk papers saying "this boy getting a gold medal is a given" turned up and failed to make the weight. Turned pro and we know the rest.

To be fair, he beat Tischenko, he was the Lomachenko of his time.

    Antony Ogogo

    Gold jnr Olympics

    Silver commonwealth games

    Bronze Olympics

Big hype when he went pro failed to deliver . Too fragile to cut it

    Michael Carruth.
    Olympic gold medallist in '92.
    Desperately disappointing as a pro

Good shout, Dren. After a stellar amateur career, he was an absolute washout as a pro.

Repeatedly rocked, made to miss and generally flustered by Craig Cunningham -- a Light Middle -- before being pulled out with a shoulder injury (IIRC).

It's an indictment of Ogogo that he'll be remembered far more for doing Subway ads and reality TV appearances than for any of his meagre accomplishments to date as a professional.

Steve McCrory. Olympic gold medalist. Steward thought he was the most talented fighter to come out of the Kronk gym but he never won a championship. There is no way Breland belongs on that list.

Bojado, was highly touted coming out of the Olympics and was one of my favorite fighters, but he didn't reach his full potential and I still to this day think he got shafted against Forbes And leija!

I wouldn't necessarily put Harrison or Reid on this list. David was a world champ, and neither of them were considered great amateurs. They each just had a great 3-week stretch in the amateurs. Duane Bobick is another one, and you could throw in Shawn O'Sullivan, Willie De Witt and Tyrell Biggs.

Breland, Gonzalez, and Audley were all excellent fighters, albeit inconsistent.

At least they did what they needed to do to make the best fights vs the top fighters. Even if it meant an almost certain defeat.
