Ofcourse Taylor is a better win than Joppy and Zuniga, no doubts there. Anyways, fair play to you. I can see the arguments both ways, i just feel those in favor of Bute weight a lil bit' heavier. Alot will be settled April 24th :D

    Bute-
Edges Ward for the top spot due not only to his better resume and record, but also for his performance in his last fight. Bute has looked more impressive than Ward and would probably be the favorite head-to-head.

    Ward-
The man who beat the man. Misses the top spot narrowly due to a sparse resume.

    Froch-
His record and resume get him to the third spot. He could be higher if his recent wins were more dominant.

    Kessler-
Dropped to fourth after being beaten by Ward. Hasn't had a big win since 2007. May be in decline, and was possibly overrated in the first place.

    Bika-
Finds himself right behind Kessler, who has a slightly better resume.

    Abraham-
Looked impressive with his recent win, but has yet to beat any established supermiddleweight. Realistically, would be a head-to-head favorite against Bika, and even or close against all the guys rated above him.

    Green-
Lost to Miranda, which puts him below Abraham, and his resume is not as populated with names as Bika's.

    Andrade-
Lost to two of the top 4 guys, and knocked out the guy ranked below him. Arguments can be made that he should be ranked higher, but definitely not lower.

    Steiglitz-
Is basically on the list for holding a title and beating a guy who was ranked. Would probably not fare well against anyone else on the list, and a few guys not on it.

    Gutknecht-
His record and common opponent with Steiglitz suggest that he should be ranked right under Steiglitz until he shows he can beat him.

    The Outcasts.....

    Miranda-
Would be (and has been) a tough night for most of the guys on the list. The fact that he has beaten Green suggests that he should be on the list if Green is.

    Taylor-
Would probably be a head-to-head favorite against most of the guys on the list, but he has virtually no good wins at this weight, and has recently developed a nasty habit of being knocked out.

    Dirrell-
Would be a head-to-head favorite against some of the guys on the list, but has no resume to speak of, and his last outing was extremely poor.

    ***************************************************************
I think the list should look like this:

    1. Bute
    2. Ward
    3. Froch
    4. Kessler
    5. Abraham
    6. Andrade
    7. Bika
    8. Miranda
    9. Taylor
    10. Green

    Unranked-

    Steiglitz
    Gutknecht
    Dirrell

Agreed. Im looking forward to it, I like the SMW division. I think Froch may win a close contraversial decision over Kessler (wouldnt bet much on it though), and Bute I think will KO Miranda.

Dirrells last outing was extremely poor? The Man that clearly outclassed Froch,Froch was beaten...

And yea I do agree with you about Kessler,The man was always Overhyped/Overrated and Ward Proved that

I don't agree with the order, but the top 6 are the right top 6 and the top 9 are the right top 9. I don't know if I'd have Gutknecht in my top 15. I'd have Dirrell at #10.

People will find a reason to ***** and moan about anything.

Ward should not be ahead of Froch or Abraham. Bad list

The rankings shouldn't be done on potential which this one looks like it is.

i agree about froch despite the fact i'm not his biggest fan. the man keeps winning.

and i also agree w/ brickhaus that the top six and nine are the right people and you can debate the order...

but i have to ask, what is it that abraham has done to this point at smw that makes so many scoff at the idea of putting ward ahead of him? abraham may very well ko everyone in this tourney and win it. but as of today, what has he done?

is ko'ing miranda at a catchweight and ko'ing a shop worn version of jermain taylor better than what ward has done? ward just dominated the tourney favorite (headbutts notwithstanding)

not gettin' on ya at all i'm just curious and very well may end up agreeing with you.

    5. Kessler
    6. Dirrell
    7. Bika
    8. Green

I think it perhaps unfair to put Bute top, when he has possibly avoided the major competition.

I mean he's the man who has least hung it all on the line, so why should he get the most credibility, when guys like Kessler are paying the price for hanging their necks on the line.

I'm surprised that The Ring put Bute at no1, I mean what has he really done?, but I guess it all leads to a possible big money making showdown after the Super Six.

Froch should be at the very minimum ranked 2nd in fact I think he deserves to be number 1.

Ward shouldn't be that high either.

I'd rather have Dirrell and Brinkley in the smw top ten than Andrade and Gutknecht, BoxRec rankings beat The Ring here imo.

I agree except for Ward being ranked above Froch. Ward as well as Abraham have only one big name beaten. If we would talk about the potential they got, Ward, Bute and Abraham would have to be the SMW Top3, but if we're talking about achievements, Froch has to be ranked higher than Ward and Abraham.

    1. Bute
    2. Froch
    3. Kessler
    4. Ward
    5. Abraham
