come on now, you have to blame kessler for some of the crap he has got himself into....kessler is living like a king in denmark, i'm sure he doesnt want to tarnish that, by losing to somebody else.....

I do think he is the felix sturm of the SMW division, but thats my opinion.

Don't think I'm a big fan of Mundine, I'm not, but he was ranked much, much higher than Miranda, Lacy, Ward, Dirrell, Zuniga, Rubio, Lockett etc.

I have nothing against Kessler but Mundine has never beat anyone significant.

Who would you consider elite near his weight? Pavlik? Hopkins (who refuses to fight him and instead tries to get a fight with Froch)? Wright (who refused even though HBO had set a date for the fight and everything)?

If Dawson can make 168-170 I think Kessler would love to fight him.

    I'm hoping for Abraham actually.

Interesting read but making excuses for the Calzaghe fight reeks of bias. Kessler looked good for the first 4 rounds until Calzaghe adopted a different game plan. After that the fight was close but clear. Calzaghe made him look stiff. Kessler couldn't adapt like Joe could. And JC may have hurt him once, and at that point he had Kessler in some trouble. Conversely, Kessler may have hurt Calzaghe a few times but at no point was he ever in that same kind of trouble. Kessler may have hurt his hand in sparring but he never mentioned it in the post fight interview and Calzaghe's hands are so wrecked he was barely throwing with conviction the whole night against Kessler.

Kessler is clearly not trash, he has pretty much dominated everyone he has fought apart from Joe Calzaghe

Neither have any of the other fighters I mentioned. That didn't keep people from hyping Lacy (and Ward) to the roof.

Kessler has mentioned the hands loads of times to the media, but he obviously didn't mention in Cardiff as people would have felt chated that he fought in such a condition. The rumors about the hand injury were circulating in the british press for days leading up to the fight.

"Looked good the first few rounds and after that close but clear." That doesn't sound like he was getting dominated to me. It's not like I said Calzaghe didn't win.

No news on the situation here in Denmark. Still awaits the negotiations for the mandatory Perdomo fight. Kessler says that on or of this Perdomo-fight will be Kessler.s last under Teampalle. We should know more inside a month. Kessler is in training and seems willing to take a fight on a short notice then.

True or not the hand thing is an excuse. Calzaghe almost pulled out of the Lacy fight because he hurt his hand and the rest is history. And I said close but clear. I said nothing about dominated. Kessler brought out the very best in Calzaghe. He thought he could do his usual swarm and overwhelm but Kessler's precision punches, particular the uppercut landed cleaner than Cazlaghe was used to taking. He adapted, turned to boxing and won at range instead. Great victory over a very good fighter, who rose in most people's stock after the fight because of how hard he pushed the seemingly unbeatable Calzaghe.
