His trainer asked him to quit,

    A) Because his face was a mess.
    B) He was getting his ass kicked and they could see he didn't have the tools to beat Ward.

That's my take on it anyway.

Kessler is done. You can see his right coming now. People confuse Ward trying to get in to clinch his opponent with butting when in fact Kessler caused some of the butts, and imo watching the fight used his own ugly arm/body covering defense to cause some of the butts himself. Keep it real lol... There was no American bias to give Ward the win when he out punched Kessler, out landed him, and was rarely hit by Kessler before the first 5 rounds. Did Kessler even land anything close to even hurting Ward, or making him think about anything coming back-NO!

His first defence of his WBA title was in Australia, and after defending it a few more times and winning the WBC title he went to UK and lost. Won another title in Denmark then his first defence was in Germany, then his second defence was in America.

He's fought 4 times away from Denmark in 10 title fights. That isn't exactly hiding in Denmark.

I felt Kessler got screwed by bad reffing and fouling, so I was shocked to read Graham Houston's review of the fight, Houston being a writer I respect a great deal - Houston takes nothing away from Ward at all and sees it as a dominant outstanding performance from Ward and doesn't really give any credence at all to the idea of poor reffing, headbutts and holding being a factor.

I really feel with a fair ref that Kessler would beat Ward, but I can't say that is only biased Ward fans that don't see the same fight I saw.

I don't think we are allowed to link to it here but go to fight writer dot com and click on reports and go to the month of the fight and you will see it.

    an excerpt:

True, Ward came in with his head lowered and Kessler got the worst of collisions, but I did not see anything that could be called intentional butting. Ward was determined to keep his grip on the fight, and at times this included punching and then crowding right in on Kessler to shut down the Danish fighterÂ’s offense. In other words, Ward was fighting the fight he needed to fight to achieve victory, and in turn he was stylish and smart, rough and tough, and it was all a bit too much for Kessler to handle.

Fighters can't hide anywhere first off. I just know that he's only fought away from home like 4 times, and lost twice...but I don't care about that really I don't lol... Second, your hero is done, and you know it. Kessler doesn't have the style to last much longer in this sport. No offense!

Exactly how the fight went, and how a young challenger is supposed to fight the champion

What so now 'he can't hide anywhere first off'? He's fought out of Denmark 4 times in 10 title fights, at the end of the day. That's not hiding. Who said he was my 'hero'? I'm just stating facts to people who say he hides in demark!

If you say something about a fighter that isn't negative, they are your hero to anyone who doesn't like that fighter on ESB. Also on ESB if you say something about a fighter that isn't positive, you are a "hater" if the person reading your comment is a fan of said fighter. No one cares about logic or objectivity. In other words, get off Kessler's nuts, Noob!

You're a big Mayweather fan Nallage yeah?
You shouldn't really ridicule fighters fighting away from home, even if it is only 2-3 times.

That's why the guy in my avatar is so ****ing awesome.
Lewis fought away for the largest % of important fights, a fact that is overlooked by most when ranking him.

...Last much longer than the 44 fights and twelve years he's already put in? :huh Yeah, that style...you manage to get anywhere with it and five years after you become champion you can't go that much longer, I guess. What the hell are you talking about, by the way?

I'm not a big fan of any fighter. I have fighters that I like, and I pick a fighter who is the best which is Floyd right now imo. I have nothing against Kessler as my bottom line point is that you can fight at home your whole career, but your chin isn't always protected by the crowd. Catch my drift?

Look, I respect Kessler, but he's just about done.
