Kessler is a warrior, I hope he comes back strong in the tournament. He was never in the fight against Ward, and regardless of the headbutts he was simply not going to win on that night, but he is a better fighter than he displayed, he has a lot of heart, and I expect to see him come back strong and push his way into the finals. A rematch with Ward would be great.

This forum is like Mad libs except instead of inserting random adjectives you just fill in any blank with the name Mayweather and pretend it makes sense. This is so ****ing dumb and irrelevant and dumb (yup, it's dumb enough to say it twice) but still you have to **** up the thread with it. Ward headbutted. It sucked for Kessler. Warnings and deductions should have been issues. WTF does this have to do with Mayweather/Hatton, which had nothing whatsoever in common with the Ward/Kessler fight?

Good post, Kessler deserves a rematch. Ward was careless with his head and was being dirty, although I think he will still win a rematch. Ward got away with everything he wanted but same thing with Froch in his home town.

Ward never beat the **** out of Kessler. He won what? 7 or 8 rounds. Big ****ing deal. People are talking like its the beatdown of a century.

The video of the final rounds speaks for itself. Look at the ref's actions, look at how the doctor manipulates Kessler's cut, listen to how biased the commentator's are... Don't ask me just look at it yourself.

And then look at the actual action in the ring. Nowhere NEAR a beatdown.

You wanna see a beatdown I suggest you pop in some real beatdowns. PM me if you need any help finding them cause I don't think you guys have ever seen one. Making a bloody mess out of your opponent by headbutting him does not make a fight a beatdown. If anything it makes it less of a beatdown cause he has to fight with impaired vision.

Ward never even came remotely close to being anywhere near stopping Kessler. I will take a lifetime ban bet with you that if they ever rematch, Ward won't win by stoppage.

Props to Kessler for his attitude. I loved when the trainer first asks "Do you want me to stop it?" and Kessler gives a 'you ****in' serious?!' look and goes "Nahh."

I think there's definitely going to be a rematch, and for some reason my money will be on Kessler. Ward showed some serious skills, but he didn't begin to truly dominate until after the eye was cut. I had him ahead by like a round or two before that happened, but afterward he took control. In a clean fight, with the benefit of hindsight and revenge motivation, I think Kessler pulls it off.

Untrue. Kessler was taking his share of rounds on my card (I had it 3 rounds to 5 in favor of Ward) until round 8 when he couldn't ****ing see.

That's like if you and me got into a fight and it was back and forth for the first half, and then I kicked you in the balls and gouged out one of your eyes and proceeded to dominate the second half.

I often fantasize about this scenario when anyone asserts that Ward put on some sort of clinic that night. I truly do want to fight all of you.

Kessler always struck me as a cool guy with class and a good fighter. I did think the fight was pretty much a shutout though. Yes, Ward should've been better officiated for coming in with his head and the holding. I didn't notice the elbows. I do not think the butting was intentional so much as something his style is prone to. Oddly, the first butt of the fight that I noticed was Kessler coming into Ward. The butt that precipitated the left eye cut happened obviously incidentally as Kessler's missed uppercut pulled Ward's head into him, you could see this clearly with the aerial camera view slo-mo replay. The second cut butt is anyone's guess but I don't think it was intentional. Props to Kessler though. Wasn't his night, couldn't deal with the speed and angles, still a good solid championship caliber SMW.

It's one thing to give him credit for not quitting. It's another to make him out to be some sort of Viking Hero because for once in his career, he wasn't fighting at home and had to ACTUALLY go on the road to defend his throne.
