Dude, I was rooting for Ward. I'm glad he won. Look through my posts and see all of the **** I gave Kessler fans after the fight about how he got beat, no question, and badly. I'm not making excuses for the guy, I'm not even a fan of his, but the fact remains that he has, at the very least, a third gear, and he spend the whole fight in first, and Ward gets a whole lot of credit for that, but not all of it.

I'm not sure what's so hard to understand about the fact that I can believe that the guy is not an amazing fighter, but also believe that he failed to fight up to his potential in this particular fight, despite also believing that it wouldn't have made a difference if he had.

Lay it out then. Get FORENSIC on me, and give me some DETAILS. Post gifs, videos, compare, contrast. Make a LEGITIMATE argument for why Kessler "wasn't sharp," and not some open ended claim. I've got eyes, my friend. I'm one of a small handful of posters here who actually uses them. Kessler wasn't lacking for sharpness. His shots were fast and crisp. His reactions, ring intelligence, and tactical movements were what they've always been. Predictable, limited, and one dimensional. Was Tito Trinidad not "sharp" the night Hopkins took his ass to the cleaners?? Maybe Arturo Gatti was a "worse version" the night Mayweather powdered and diapered him, eh?

Kessler, even in the opening stanzas, before the headbutts, did not use his jab as effectively as he has in the past, was far more tentative about throwing the right hand than he had been in the past, and completely neglected the uppercut. He did not punch with much authority, and he looked hesitant from the get-go. Compare that to his performance against, say, Calzaghe, who is another guy who showed him angles and moved a lot, and Kessler was at least marginally more successful at landing the uppercut in close, and making use of the straight right.

I have no intention of going into any more detail that that because I truly don't give a ****. If you're so deeply invested in this need to believe that Kessler is truly a terrible euro-bum then go for it. It doesn't change a single thing about that fight or any future fight, so have a ball.

LMAO... Ever hear of something called 'CAUSE-AND-EFFECT?' I alluded to it in my last post.

You really shouldn't waste your time. I agree.

See my first post - the first observational post straight from round 1, post #115 in the round by round thread for the fight:

Kessler looked "hesitant," eh? NO ****.

Is that directed towards me because I never said a word about the commentating. My point was that there are numerous occasions where a warning should have been issued for his use of the head, which in some cases appeared intentional. I have even said in a previous post that Ward would win a rematch. Not knocking on Wards talent skill or game plan execution, he fought great but Mikkel deserves an even playing field

What i find strange is... Ward is "supposed" to be some kind of master boxer. And he did look good against lower comp

But when he stepped up in comp he started fighting EXACTLY like ricky hatton :lol::lol::lol:

I think he will move up and somone like dawson will KTFO his ass back to oakland

ward fans are alot like hatton fans too :rofl

Im sorry guys, i just dont like fighters who hit and hold and fight with an ugly mugging style. Hatton and ward are the 2 most famous guys who do this :deal

Think Kessler's a terrific standup boxer/puncher, with a sizzling straight right, that he throws with bad intentions; but unless a new trainer can teach him to go to plan B, C, 'n D, if need be -- like Roach has with Pac -- no way will he ever beat Ward -- just too savvy and versatile.

also, kessler wasn't even getting beaten up bad enough to quit. i think it's pretty ridiculous that his trainer was even asking him to.

Dude, do you even watch boxing? Ward fought nothing like Hatton, Ward is a stylist and fights nothing like Hatton. And Dawson is a fantastic boxer, i'm a fan but he is not KTFOing anybody.

    I do watch boxing...

But are you telling me you dont see the similarities in their styles??? Both clinch very often... Both rush straight in with their hands down at times in order to tie up their opponents, both hold and hit....

They both have the SAME ****ING STRATEGY...

Get in range, throw punches, then rush into your opponent and tie him up so he cant throw back......

Are you telling me that wasnt wards game plan during the kessler fight??? Be honest

just because ward can box (even tho he chooses not to use it), dosent mean they arent using the same strategy :bart

And no one thought floyd was gonna lay out hatton but he did. Just wait, ward will rush into chad dawson with his hands low and get laid out just like ricky did against floyd
