so your telling me ward didnt stay on the outside....

Then step in range to throw a few shots and then tie up right after??? Were he would either hld and hit or look at the ref to break up the clinch.....

Are you telling me that didnt happen all the time in the kessler fight???? Did u even watch that fight????

Just cuz ricky hatton looks like **** when he uses the same strategy, dosent mean they dont use the same strategy.. Ward just pulls it off better

To be very honest i never believe Ward had a chance against Kessler because i have been watching Ward after the olympics and i never saw him that impressive so i stopped watching his fights but the fight with Kessler was Ward's masterpiece,he fought brilliantly, like an olympian.

Kessler got beat up in every sense of the word in that fight.

As I was reading though the thread I came across one moronic statemant..I dont recall who it was and Im too lazy right now to go back and look, but it was something like

"Ward didnt outclass Kessler, he only won 7 or 8 rounds" Well I would call winning 8 of 10 scored rounds outclassing. And even giving Kessler two of the rounds could be called into question.

There is NO need to have a rematch of this fight, and I fear that should they meet in the finals it would do fairly bad in terms of numbers. I also think that Ward would stop Kessler in a rematch.

What I really dont get is how people here who put Kessler amoung the greats before the fight is having trouble with people wanting to give Ward alot of credit for beatting him. Funny how that works.

Also I would like to add one more thing about the fight. It was as much Kesslers fault he was butted as it was Wards. As I have stated many times Kessler in the past would rush guys and in the past they would give way and allow him to run forward. Ward had in his gameplan to stay in the pocket as Kessler attacked and as a result you had headbutts. Its not like Kessler was just standing there and Ward plowed into him with his head, both guys were moving forward.

In the end Ward whipped up on Kessler, and all many can do is cry about some headbutts that really happened AFTER the fight was pretty much over. Many of the same people that just a short time before was defending Froch for the crap that he pulled in the fight with Dirrell.

Now they are cring the super six is fixed, its boring, its blah blah...Stop ****ing cring:|

Ward beat Kessler on the night (headbutts or no headbutts). If Kessler is such a warrior he will have the chance to fight Ward again in the Super 6.

Kessler/Ward made me want to see Abraham/Ward really ****ing bad. I hate Abraham, but I would love to see him blast a knee into Wards nuts and slam an elbow into his face when Ward starts his bull****.

And by the way, it was nine head butts, and the ref admitted to seeing FIVE!!!

Ward fought very dirty, that's true, and he had the ref on his side. But he also kicked Kesslers ass regardless of these dirty tactics - he didn't need to use them. This stains what could otherwise have been a great win for Ward, as it makes the win unnecessarily controversial.

It was also clear that this wasn't the Kessler that we have seen before. Either he is past his best already, or he just had a bad night.

I don't remember you giving any details on your position. :blood

And yes, Gatti was not at his best against Mayweather, he was already over the hill. That wouldn't have changed nothing if he were at his best, of course.

Kessler was off that night. A big part of it because Ward was excellent but not all of it. Kessler did no sparring against a southpaw. Everybody knew Ward would switch to southpaw! His preparation was bad, he had no sparring partner when he arrived in USA, his corner's advices were awful, as usual. I think Kessler would give Ward a tougher fight if they face eachother again. I see Ward winning again though. Just a better fight to watch.

Ward doesn't have the power to kick anyone of the elite's ass. He can shcool them though.

Ward vs Abraham should answer lots of questions.

Kessler-Froch too. And it's happening way sooner than Abraham-Ward, which could be the final.

Ward did dominate, but Ward also did use that head often through out the fight so Kessler not only had to deal with a young kid who came to win, but he had to deal with fighting in the kids home town while defending his title, a blind ref that did not address the fouls, and the fighter who was not only throwing shots but also using his head as a third fist and his elbow as a fourth one.......

Kessler got his ass whipped no doubt, but he hardly got a fair shake...
