Have you ever tried not being overly insulting?

A typical conversation with you goes

    "Hi Naysayer"

    "Stop taking heroin"

I'm like, well that escalated quickly. Think it was better when you did the whole 1+1=2 thing

Didn't realise but he's still considered Ring champ as well. Whilst that isn't anymore legit it does show that he on gave up the WBC, not his actual championship claim.

You don't release the Ring championship by ducking your alphabet mandatory. Spinks for example remained Ring HW champion after ducking Tucker and even when Tyson was the undisputed champion, it wasn't until the Spinks mismatch until he became Ring and Lineal champ. If Spinks had never agreed to fight him there's a good chance Tyson would have never won those due to what happened in his career shortly after.

Current rules prevent a couple of these blatant unfair practises, but same rules are still very vulnerable to abuse, hence Canelo with the whole 155 loophole and Floyd with his defending both at 147 thing so both wouldn't have to fight the strongest opponents in the weightclass or at all.

I think that they let Canelo get away with it until he violates at least one or two rules clearly and/or that Dougie Fisher's mailbox gets bombarded by so many angry fans that they can't longer let it slide.

How the TBRB is going to handle this cr_p, I don't know. Either way they're have to make some sort of decision, because whatever they do they can't 100% stay true to their mission statement due to the ridiculousness of the whole situation.

Unless he makes a statement saying he isn't MW champion, or leaves the division permanently, he's gonna remain a champion.

So Pac has renounced his retirement. Does he reclaim him crown if his first fight back at WW is vs Crawford?

Or some might argue he actually still is the lineal champion.
This is why the whole lineal thing isn't very lineal at all. The difference why Pac was being stripped of his linealship is because he said he retired but coming back on that shortly after, while others only hint at it and keep people in the dark for one or even 2 years before deciding to make their comeback are often still concidered the lineal champion upon their return.

Pretty sure a guy like Canelo would keep everyone guessing, even if he has decided for himself to fight at 154 for the time being just to be able to keep the MW lineal hostage and have a much better bagaining position if he suddenly grows some cojones and go after Golovkin anyway, or takes on the weak beltholder in the division in Billy Joe.

I think the difference is literally an official announcement.
