Then which rankings had Ali and Holmes as number 1 and 2 in the world?

Breazeale at #9? The only win against a Top 20 opponent he has is Mansour. Although Breazeale showed heart and got the W in that fight, he was not particularly impressive. There are probably 10 other names at heavyweight that are more deserving of being in the Top 10.

What's the stance on Fury. He's vacated his belts whilst seeking medical help. Does that include his championship as well? I'd have thought so.

If Fury gets stripped of a lineal title for vacating sanctioning body belts, Canelo needs to be too.

Mick Hennesey does say in the statement 'Tyson will still be linear champion of the world'

If Mick says that he argument is moot.
Canelo never vacated his Ring title, just the WBC.

I wonder what happens if Fury loses his licence as well.

Nothing on Tyson Fury vacating his RING title either. And as per Ring rules, he's still the champion.

Yeah it looks like it's just the sanctioning bodies.

If he loses his licence to box does it get stripped?

Depends what it's for. If it's PEDS then yeah, I think so. Recreational drugs, maybe not.

Also I'm not sure the losing your licence part is that big a deal. If he loses it with the British Boxing Board he could easily pick one up with another board. After all Haye and Chisora have lost theirs in the past.
