OK. I found this: This content is protected Diuretics are not performance-enhancing and they are prescribed for High Blood Pressure. And Povetkin is still in the rankings ?
They made a statement about it at the time on their website, not sure if stuff like that can be archived and traced.
If Ortiz won tonight given their statement he would not be ranked. TNBR want to out cheats. I had a row with a chap called Toledo who must work for them, my take is not to play god and just do the rankings based on the results in the ring not the laboratory. Everytime I say something he does not like he deletes my post. Their rankings have gone from very very good to Ok recently. Having Lipinets the number 2 at #140 is bizzarre. They also put Povetkin back in at 5. He is either 2 or not in the rankings on their same criteria. Ryan Burnett a number 1 is a headshaker for me too but no one or no one system will please everyone. I have Jeff Horn at 1 because he beat the #1 at the time subjectively he is probably not even top 10.
If Ortiz won tonight he'd be number 2. Or maybe number 3 at worst. Povetk is ranked because he's scored clean wins since failing his test.
They penalised Povetkin from 2 to 5 when they re-ranked him. Toledo said to me Ortiz is a cheat and they were not ranking him.
No he was removed from the rankings just like Ortiz is currently. When Povetkin won it was against a lower ranked opponent and placing him 2nd would be crazy. If Ortiz wins it will be against the number 2 HW in the world and so he'd deserve at worst a top 3 position. I'd prefer him being ranked 3rd so that Joshua Vs Parker would be for the crown.
Povetkin beat Christian Hammer in his last fight he was ranked 2 before being taken out came back at 5. Hammer is a decent fighter top 10 in most ratings. (was 7 by the PBO before that fight)
By beating Lipinets? Would he have become their "Super Champion" if he had gone for Prograis, Postol or Flanagan? Or was Lipinets the former "lineal" champion himself? edit: No, because that was Crawford of course!
Yes he moved up and vacated the championship. But that should mean that Lipinets and Garcia would be the division's 1 and 2 at the time. Garcia at 2 is a bit far fedged, but Lipinets as #1 is mind bubbling, as Wilder would say.
