Should do a p4p top 20-25, McGrain, because otherwise, some of the picks in the top 10 will look a bit too thin/ too categorical and it will allow for easy promotion/demotion out of the top 10.

I think we've got enough on our plate, to be honest!

p4p's a sideline really, at least as i personally see it.

If it's a sideline, (and I agree, it should be), don't do it, because it devalues the TBR. Stick to your strengths.:good

I agree with everything on this list except I'd switch Ward and Marquez. That victory over Pacquiao is one of the greatest achievements in recent times (and it was clear unlike Bradley's).

I agree with you my friend, in fact i'd also swap Viloria and Mares - but it's a group effort and where there are disagreements there have to be compromises. I think it's a decent stab at a p4p list and i'm happy to run with it.

    Cheers luff.

I think all it needs is some casual mention by commentators, something like

"bear in mind folks, by the strict criteria of the tbrb this isn't even a championship fight!, for that the winner must face Floyd Mayweather"

    that kinda thing

well if nothing else, atleast there isn't as much argument about igarashi being number 1 an more.

hope he unifes with estrada to clarify but his claim doesn't seem as weak now.

I'm interested to know who will replace Viloria at #10 p4p. There's no clear cut choice. Vitali? Trout? Kessler? All kind of in holding places these guys. Guerrero? Dawson? Broner? How about Gonzalez, his victory over Estrada looks beautiful now.

there's so many at that sort of holding level it really could be anyone. i think once ya get past Floyd, Ward, Marquez, Martinez and Donaire it's wide open.

Viloria had a red hot streak but it seems it took it's toll. think of the punchers he's been in against and estrada had him in real trouble during that last 6 minutes.

McGrain, do you now see why it's silly to have a top 10 p4p without a top 20/25 in the background? Hope so.

I'm saying top 20/25 because that is the minimum number that from a practical pov could back the top 10 up, give it credibility, be a de facto argument for the top 10 in question, and underline the philosophy behind its construction.

Otherwise, if you only post a top 10, it's only going to be good to do the same for the Top 3-4, but then whole thing is going to be much too thin to provide much value.

(I'm not saying the top 10 posted by you is wrong, btw. I'm just saying it's not strong enough to stand up to scrutiny on its own. It's like a tree without roots, or it's like your p4p ATG ranking with only 10 fighters in it).
