4 fights ago he lost to who is now p4p no:2 in what happens to be wards best win and therefore one of the main reasons ward is regarded near top of the p4p rankings. Credit where credit is due and bare in mind that p4p is not solely based on how you loose.. and you must be a hater if you really think bute wasn't even top 10:nut

This is the absolute worst take on his run that is possible. It is equally valid to write that he was unlucky to lose to Kessler, beat him clear in a rematch, lost to the p4p #2, beat a running Dirrell in a close one, beat Johnson, thrashed Bute, thrashed Abraham.

The truth is somewhere in between.

Froch is an awesome fighter, and one of my favorites, but I honestly don't see him as being a legitimate part of the discussion pertaining to top 10 P4P talent. I know some people have been saying this since he beat Bute, but I think he falls comfortably outside the realm of the genuine elites in the sport.

Well top ten pound for pound talent and top ten pound for pound aren't the same thing (in all or even most cases). Pound-for-pound talent lists are rare indeed...I think there a "talent list" would look very different.

On the other hand, if you're ranking fighters purely on who they have beaten/lost to in there last half dozen fights, perhaps Froch should be above Pacquiao, also?

I notice this list is highly weighted towards achievement. IMO, a better list would be one weighted more towards actually how well the fighters have performed in their last few fights, particularly the last one (i.e. how good the fighters actually are at present).

I think many people have different views on what a pound for pound list should be - i'd agree that this one is weighted to achievements and i feel that's the right way to do things personally.

A P4P list that is weighted toward achievement/"quality of opposition overcome" can be something more than the meaningless exercise that these things usually are. If it ever becomes the definitive P4P List, it can, theoretically, encourage what every fan wants -high-risk fights.

Nobody cares about transgender boxing rankings. Froch is scared of Ward plain and simple. Froch can talk like he's legit but beating overrated Bute (Froch's best win) doesn't make you P4P.

    ^^^

Therefore, wards' best win is against an illegitimate opponent, whose best win is against an overrated Bute. Ward the fraud shouldn't even be discussed as p4p material if all he has beaten is scrubs, right?

Or are you going to claim Bad Glass Jawson is his best win.
