Looking at the 135 ratings, can we assume when they are updated after Vazquez's "defeat" -() this weekend, Crawford v Beltran will be for the lineal championship? Also is Abril unrated due to inactivity?
Based on what exactly? Cause it DAMN sure ain't resume. Alvarez has the Ws over Trout and Lara. Exactly WHO has the Triple Duck beat?
If all Alvarez did was beat up on TOMATO CANs, he'd look just as dominant as the Triple Duck, if not more so.
Well, for now; soon he will be unrated due to having lost his title in Finland. :yep (whether he ought to or not - his style has in the past bought him little favor with judges, and he is taking on a young unbeaten kid with a fan-friendly style being groomed for stardom in his own backyard...)
I didn't say Golovkin looked more dominant. I said he is more skilled than Alvarez. He knows how to cut the ring off, etc. Go watch Alvarez fail to consistently do just that against Mayweather, Lara or Trout if you need a refresher.
By the standards of the entire sport? Even, there, no. By the standards of the middleweight division at present? Absolutely not, they are two of the best. (as is Rubio, after whom the division will have been damn near cleaned out) It is what it is.
1. Floyd Mayweather 2. Andre Ward - he's very close to being kicked off. 3. Guillermo Rigondeaux 4. Manny Pacquiao 5. Roman Gonzalez 6. Wladmir Klitschko 7. Timothy Bradley 8. Juan Manuel Marquez 9. Carl Froch 10. Juan Francisco Estrada
You still haven't addressed the issue at hand. Alvarez would look just as skilled as the Triple Duck if all he did was beat up on TOMATO CANs..
Ok, believe what you want - but those of us with two eyes and 20/20 vision can cleary see that the 160lb division is absolute shi'ite - and that includes Macklin and Geale...
