Why would he box on if he lost the rematch?

He enjoys the big fights, the limelight, the attention and everything that comes along with being a headliner?

It would be a strange decision for him to retire after losing to Ruiz Jr and one he wouldn’t be able to stick to in my view. There would be an itch he would need to scratch.

 

I could defo see SKY opening up to other promoters when the Matchroom deal is up....MTK have build a big stable and are putting on really good cards atm

What Joshua said is exactly what ive been saying...no point having a warm up fight (or two) sod that. He needs to get straight back in there. In my opinion thats what a true fighting man does. You lot on here would crucify him if he fought a Tom Schwarz type fighter...

Win or lose I got nothing but respect for both men for stepping back up and fighting again. Thats what true champions do.

 

Well that is true. But the truth is his defense needs work, his chin is mediocre and his clinching survival skills need work.

Ruiz took his power. AJ needs a fight controlling jab. It only works when his opponent does not want to engage.

 

Tough call on weather to take the rematch. He kind of has to take it but the pressures on for him now. Lose it and its all but over imo. Fans are fickle we,ve seen what happened to price.

I say they should have took him out of the limelight for a bit. Rebuilt his career for a bit. The cats out the bag now....go forward and fight him. Most gameplans we,re go out try to avoid him...he,ll tyre. I dont think he does...at least till you hurt him then everything starts to betray him. Opponents know that now. He got caught going in for the kill and never quite recovered from it. Dont think people realise how much that first ruiz knockdown affected him. Ruiz bounced two crackers off him. Think one was off the temple. From there he was out on his feet. But ruiz had decent success before that tbf. Joshua looks overcoached to me. Robs almost trying to train him robotically and to me its not working for him. Its left him thinking about not making mistakes too much. Joshuas got too many assets too overly worry about the opponent. They should be training him to dish out damage as opposed to always thinking about not making a mistake.

Looked like a fighter that was caught between two chains of thought against ruiz ended up with him meakly using the jab scared too make a mistake. He should be pushing ruiz back. Joshuas defence should be his offence.
