Guys a cruiserweight and fought a massive heavyweight. People get pissed that Wlad couldn't knock him out, couldn't even land a finger on Haye. Too slick.

Haye didn't let his hands go like he'd hoped, but Wlad was much quicker than he expected, than we all expected. Wlad was pressing him and wasn't giving Haye any time. Haye's like Eubank and can only fight in spurts.

David Haye, no matter what else he does in his career after the Chisora fight should always be remembered purely on boxing that he was an explosive undisputed cruiserweight champion and a Heavyweight champion.

Hopefully he gets his shot at Vitali because I believe Vitali is too slow and too old now, Haye will made Vitali look really old and will be able to find space to throw his bombs. Vitali doesn't throw the jab like Wlad and Haye should get plenty of opportunites to land his bombs while frustrating Vitali with his slick defense

Haye won't be remembered for anything. He didn't give himself the time to build a noteworthy legacy. Shame really, good boxer with solid skills and talent.

When Haye was getting knock down left, right and centre as a Cruiserweight it was because he was really a heavyweight draining himself.

When Haye gets comprehensively beaten by a heavyweight, it's because he was a blown up cruiserweight.

    Very consistent.

Let's compare David Haye's activity to that of Carl Froch.

That should put things in perspective.

:deal Nothing, one of the worst heavyweight records of any champion, Valuev(who clearly lost to 100 years old Holyfield), Ruiz(lost to RJJ 2002), Audley(joke fighter) absolutely horrible!!!

This is right. He was unified, not undisputed.

I like Haye's current more reasonable but still snarky personality more than the one he exhibited leading up to the Wlad fight. Haye has seen Chisora give him the chance to, if not exactly be a good guy, be a more likeable guy than he was recently. Even Bernd Boente was saying nice things about Haye when comparing him to Chisora this week.

But as a heavyweight, David still has some work to do to convince me of his greatness. He can start by knocking out Chisora. That would be a big step, because Chisora beat Helenius and gave Vitali a decent fight.

The OP said nothing about weight draining, so there is no consistency issue here. Besides, getting knocked down due to weight draining is entirely unrelated to then struggling with a skilled opponent who is considerably bigger than you. Both of those can happen, there is no conflict at all. Haye likely was draining himself to some degree to make CW, and Haye struggled with Wlad because he is a big man with skill.

The HW division is not like other weight classes. If you applied your argument to a 140lb-er who was draining to make 140, but struggling to win at 147, then fair enough...but the size discrepancy between CW and HW can be enormous, so it doesn't necessary apply there.

I think he could of done more and is just a greedy inactive joke. Good skills with no heart. And has a glass toe.

I think a pressure fighter like delboy will beat him and expose him. Will bring an ear to ear smile to my face.

Why is Haye getting so grossly underrated on here?

People forget that Haye went to France, into the lions den and won the CW title off Mormeck.

He went to Germany, into the lions den and won the title off Valuev.

Then, he went to Germany again, to try and unify the HW division against world no.1 Wladimir Klitschko, into the lions den again, and gave Klitschko his toughest fight in recent years, in what was a poor night for Haye.

Now, he's fighting a tough ******* in Chisora, who gave V.Klitschko a hard fight, in an attempt to set up another title shot against Vitali.

Haye is a 215 pound small HW who was natural at CW, fighting guys who are 240-320 pounds.

Haye has been willing to make the big fights, and has been willing to travel into hostile environments and lay it on the line. He deserves more credit than he's getting. He'll fight anyone anywhere.
