+1. Apparently Canadians can't count to ten anymore.

    It appears he didn't.

That's about the size of it.

It's more obvious in this video as the time remaining in the round is also visible.

The round timer shuts off with five seconds left in the final round.. Bute hits the canvas three seconds later, with two seconds left in the fight.

All he needs to do is get up inside of ten seconds. ANd he does. You tube video timer: down at 0:59, up by 1:08.

The actions of the referee after that are irrelevant.

Im a big fan of Butes but he was using the ropes to stay upright. He got up at around 8 but was leaning back on the ropes to stay upright, which I read wasnt allowed, and Bute was in no position to continue, so yes I think that should have been a loss for Bute.
It seems that the current crop of SMWs have some favourable decisions, Bute/Andrade, Ward/Boone, Froch in a couple of fights

Yes but to be fair the same thing was happening 10-15 seconds before that when he was leaning on the ropes when he should've got a count and could have recovered a bit and would have survived the end of the fight without a down.
Andrade is to blame that he was in the center of the ring when Bute was receiving his count. If you look at fans made films and not the official video who doesn't shows Andrade you'll see how he approached Bute coming closer and closer to him the referee were also to blame if he would have not urged Andrade in the neutral corner. Bute went down with 4 seconds left in the round was up at 8 or 9, after Lucian would recieved the count and if he beat the count Andrade had no right to take another shot at him as the fight would have finished the instant the count ended. Andrade was no angel in that fight, he tried to cheat, and you could argue that he got cheated himself.

I.l guess we all can agree to, that if Bute have a 12 round like that in Nottingham, Bute will lose the fight....:deal!

This time Bute is on his own away from home - a mayor big difference..........Bute's biggest test ever.............:bbb

You read the wrong rule, Bailey. At the end of the fight (any other round would have been different), the fight was over as soon as his gloves cleared the mat. The fight was over right then. He could have fallen again, he could have died, nothing could have changed the fact he did stand up before 10 seconds, and the fight was over at that exact moment.

I've said many times Wright could have stopped the fight before, even if I understand why he didn't. Bute was not receiving much punches, he was not hurt, he was only tired (Wright is a former professional fighter, he can make the difference), he was still able to clinch (which is part of protecting yourself). Wright was waiting for at least one good punch from Andrade to stop the fight. unfortunately for Andrade, he was so desperate that he was even more inaccurate than usual and it took him a lot of time to knock Bute down. I guess many referees would have stopped it but not all of them.

Andrade had the chance to prove his point in a rematch. He got KO'd in the 4th round.

Of course. With the crowd and with the numerous bad decision we see these days, I hope both boxers will have a word to say about the judged and the referee. We ned a clean fight from the officials.

I'm sure Bute doesn't want a fight to finish like Andrade 1 ever. No chance it happens if he's healthy though (I'm talking of being exhausted that much).

I don't mean they would have to be corrupt or anything, simply that a TKO win would have been a fair call for the home guy.......

It could have been a fair call even in Montreal so I agree it would be the by far most probable outcome outside.

If Kessler had fought Froch away and Ward at home, and Froch had fought Pascal and Dirrell away, the outcome could have been total different. This is what Bute is up against, when he finally steps it up and take on a big fight away from home......
