He was a great fighter, maybe not Top 100 atg status but definately great. I agree with what another said in this thread, by the time he fought Kelley he was already visibly past prime, whether down to his lax training or just early ageing, those instinctive reflexes were gone.

I also read a while back that he started to develop hand problems and this was probably the main reason for his retirement, his reflexes had degraded and he couldn't throw with the same power any more. What was he left to do?
