The Truth About Sergio Mora

First and foremost I think that as a person Sergio Mora is an egotistical turd. As a fighter at 160 I see him as a "C+" guy who could probably hold his own against guys like Marquez, McKart, Ornales, and maybe Duddy.

One of the worst career moves in recent boxing history was for Mora to pull out of the Taylor fight. He has no real KO power, and felt he could not get a decision in Memphis. However, even a decision loss to Taylor probably would have got him more respect in the boxing community than a controversial draw with Elvin Ayala, and a UD over 100 year old Vernon Forest at 154.

I read an article right after Pavlik/Taylor I that claimed Mora called his brother right after the fight and said; "I want to fight this guy. I can beat him. My speed and style would be to much for him."

It seems to me that Mora truly believes that he is the real deal. His ego is so big that he honestly believes he can hang with the best. Arum seems to think that a Mora fight would help to raise Pavlik's profile with casual fans, and Kelly needs to stay busy until Arthur is available next January. So, we are probably stuck with Pavlik/Mora.

Mora will come in confident and cocky. He may even win an early round or two. By the time we get to the 4th round Pavlik will have that awkward jump in and jump out style all figured out. He will then calmly and systematically dismantle Mora over the next couple rounds, and patiently but brutally execute "The Man They Call The Latin Snake" somewhere in the 6th or 7th round.

It's a bull**** fight, but I think we are stuck with it.
