Lots of fighters straddle weights, some boil down, some seem perfectly suited to one division.
Floyd is 140-147, beterbiev boils to 175 and kovalev seem an on the money LHW.

Golovkin is a straight 160 pounder.

Cotto is a 140-147 masquerading as a light middle.

Alvarez has to cut to 154, he's really 160-168.

Ward I think struggles to 168 and is really a LHW

I don't think GGG-Cotto is a fair fight, for the same reason that GGG-Ward isn't... Size disparity.

Weight class is only one metric, an indicator of size: just look at pac-margarito, they weighed the same, didn't they?

I personally would like to see Froch (natural super middle) or Canelo vs Golovkin.

Cotto should drop back to 147 and Ward should fight Kovalev.

Tl;dr vs Golovkin... Ward is too big, Cotto too small.

beterbiev doesnt boil down to 175 his walking around weight is supposed to be 185-188

i agree with the rest though, the myth that beterbiev boils down is mainly due to him fighting at 200 pounds in the ams, in reality he was vastly outweighed by the majority of guys he fought at that weight

Cotto is a small 154lb. I'm not sure if he can make 147 since he's been off that division for years, but he definitely could have stayed there longer if he wanted to. Cotto is smaller than Andrade, Canelo, Margarito, and a whole bunch of other jr Middleweights.

GGG is absolutely perfect at 160lb, that is his prime division and should stay their for the majority of his career. Same with Kovalev.

That is all individual choice. If Cotto or Canelo decideds not to fight Golovkin then he will NEVER be the top premier elite fighter that some of you want him to be considered as. He will be like Micheal jezewski or whoever the WBO champ was when Roy Jones was reigning. Nobody gives a squat about him now.

Caparello trained with Beterbiev and said he's coming down from 195-198 :deal

that would mean he comes in 5 pounds over the record light heavyweight limit of 193 set by chad dawson, i find that impossible to believe

especially considering beterbiev was able to weigh in at 178 with same day weigh ins as a fuly grown adult:smoke

You're right, he is 34 and shedding those bulked MW pounds would be tricky. 140-147 is still the right place for him size-wise regardless.

What you talking about 193 is the LHW record? Francisco Sierra managed 200 :smoke

Also, why would Caparello lie about that? :think

Interesting, I always thought beterbiev s early 180 pound fights and his general shredded look suggested he struggled to 175.
