This fight is like a corrupt horse race in the late 70's with a jockey called Peter Cook................ Now that the heat is on with Briggs health i bet we see a Green points victory in Perth with little or no damage to either guys body.

yeah a few months ago Green said there was no way he would fight briggs straight up if he had a few warm up fights and looked good maybe, then all of a sudden he is fighting him Briggs must have got in his ear or there was nothing else out there, at one stage the fight was on then Green's people called it off then it was on again after green fought siaca so maybe it was best green could get at the time

    It is isn't it?

Someone in the media said "hey guys, a naturopath friend of Briggs said years ago that he might have a neurological issue" and they panic like a bunch of clowns. What was his treatment, lavender oil and a massage?

Now they say "oh, maybe we should have looked into it more" and "oops, if we knew Lou Lewis cleared him it would have been different".

    Idiots.

Lou Lewis isn't a neurologist or neurosurgeon. So what specialist, additional evidence could he have provided anyway???

I think the real point is - there was zero medical evidence that Briggs had a neurological problem in the first place bar the 3 yr old opinion of a naturopath and Briggs looking like crap against a bum.

    One thing seems certain....

NSW Boxing Authority have set a public precedent here - to be consistent, they will have to be far more stringent with approving fighters and fights than they have been in the past. Otherwise everyone will draw on Briggs rejection as an example of inconsistency.

If that means better safety for fighters and less mismatches....their could be some good in all of this.

Exactly. They must now force all boxers to be studied closely by a naturopath and undergo aromatherapy testing.

Amelia nice to get ur thoughts.............. A lot of what u say is pretty spot on, what people don't realise is test like MRI and CT scan don't paint the full picture. The brain works a bit like taking drugs....... A lot of drugs are out of the system within a certain time frame, what is interesting is that Paul Briggs hasn't been subjected to these test constantly over the last 3yrs.

This is more than likely because he hasn't been active..The boxing authorities don't chase up inactive fighters to have medicals when my partner had the MRI the neurologist we saw asked me what I thought of him boxing now if Id said I hated it an wanted him to retire that's it the Dr would of put on report 27yrs scaring of a 45yr old in my opinion its in his best interest to stop..But he didnt he said look if you weren't a boxer an I looked at this scan Id be very worried you have all the signs of severe trauma to the brain an another 5yrs of this will add another 10-15yrs of scaring so you look forward to early dementia parkinson's or other neurological problems.....we walked out of there saying we need to really think about this we have 4kids...but awk later back in the gym(having told no one about the scaring all they see is the all clear report) you start training an when you love the sport as much as we do you think ok we already knew this was a sport were you can get hurt then your trainer says Ive been offered a title shot for you all you remember that Dr saying is ALL CLEAR... What Im getting at going the long way about it is IF Brigg's got a bad report an is banned from fighting then there has to be something very serious on that report because these Dr's know this is a boxer's life so they will over look some things but to not pass its serious I hope all is hype is just that an he has all the facts
