The truth is if Golovkin would stop Canelo, people would remember him as TBE!

Just imagine how good Golovkin would look if he would KTFO the Gingerboy! People would put him next to Hagler, Hopkins, SRR, Monzon and Herry Greb.

What if Canelo knocks out GGG? You going to jump on the Beterbiev bandwagon next?

He's to busy making GGG threads that he forgets the guy he's always using as an example, as to why GGG doesn't have to move up.
"Buh buh but, Hagler and Monzon didn't move up, so GGG doesn't have to. YAY!"

    flashy poo is an idiot.

He will be seen as TBE by a sizeable proportion of casual fans. i.e the types that don't particularly like Floyd but say 'Floyd must surely be the Greatest ever, undefeated, 23 world champions'.

It must be known that Canelo is Golovkin's ultimate stylistic threat and Canelo is probably elite at this stage of his career, so if Golovkin beats him, it will be a very impressive win.

Golovkin battering Ginger would make world boxing fans going mental! GGG is the man, the fighter who will put boxing on world sports map!

Noone becomes TBE with a win against a guy who they're 1/4 favouırite over. Money-wise, It'll be a big win. Legacy-wise, not so much.

I don't think it'll be like that. Golovkin has a lot of H2H hype around him. Similar to Kovalev. Kovalev was an overwhelming favorite over Ward but once the fight was signed and the fighters were in camp people were forced to actually think logically and set aside their excitement. Now it's considered a much closer fight than it was months ago. The exact same thing will happen with Canelo - GGG. When the fight actually rolls around GGG won't be a 1/4 favorite.

Ward was the betting favourite against Kovalev from the beginning, nothing has change about that. Unless Canelo goes on to outclass and dominate a top MW like Saunders or Jacobs, he'll remain as the betting underdog and will be considered mismatched by most of the diehard fans.
