Yes it is, because it shows that just typing the result of a fight like Lewis TKO 6 doesn't tell the whole story, or even show who was the superior fighter.

I'm sure that Lennox knows deep down that he should have done the rematch, because he's so sensitive about the whole issue whenever it comes up.

So? The fight was going good and stopped early. No **** people are going to boo. Besides, booing? Who cares? Think Lewis cares if he's booed in a city or country he's not from? You think Vitali would give a **** if he was booed in Libya? :huh

If Vitali and Lewis were even CLOSE to the same age, then you might have a point. But they weren't. And at the end of the day, Vitali could not beat the worst version of Lewis. I guess that makes McCall and Rahman better then Vitali? :nut

Lewis TKO6 is applicable to this thread. The one that you kissed ass on, was a lame ass retort from a UK poster about an American, and not even applicable.

WHat the fights tells is, that through 6 rounds, Lewis was superior as Vitali could not continue. Hell, even another round, Lewis would have pummelled that gash even more.

He WAS old genius. :patsch He had been a pro for almost 20 years FFS.

No one is saying he was too old or crippled. You think embellishing or exxagerrating will help your point? NOw that is what's silly, gooing to the extreme of the other side to try and make a point. That would be like me saying Lewis punched off Vitali's head, when he just made a couple bad cuts.

Don't come out with the short notice rubbish, they both took it on short notice and Lewis had been inactive for 13 months. It was 3 a piece imo and both were equally exhausted (Vitali more so than in any other fight of his career). Nobody really knows what would have happend. Vitali may have landed more but Lewis got a lot of heavy shots in. Lewis won 1, 5 and batterd Vit in 6 imo, but yes Vit did batter him in 2.

But what if Marciano didnt give Walcott a rematch? How would boxing fans look at that fight?
damn, if Rocky ducked Walcott, people would talked about the fight since the 50's.

A rematch may not have settled anything. If Vitali won a close decision there'd be calls for a third fight, if Lewis won a close decision Vitali fans wouldn't accept the outcome and they'd find some other way to justify the Lewis victory.

If Lewis had purposely avoided V.K. then his fans might have a case about Lewis ducking him or whatever, but he was close to retiring before this fight even happened. He really wanted a Tyson rematch to make some quick easy money. They he thought Kirk Johnson would be an easy payday. Obviously V.K. wasn't going to be an easy pay day so he went ahead and retired. meanwhile for some unknown reason V.K. fans think he deserves a second chance for some reason. Why didn't he use his first chance to get Lewis out of there? He hurt him in the second round, why didn't he finish it? That's the question they should be asking.

If you think Vitali is better than ever you're more delussional than I thought. The V.K. version that fought Lewis would make sort work of the current version. This versions so slow I can watch him punch, go take a **** and still come back and I'd still be waiting for the punch to land.

Funny how people that frown at "Holyfield-Lewis I - Draw" record suddenly become defenders of official records when it comes to Lewis-Vitali TKO6 even though there are solid arguments that both decisions were wrong.

No there's not. There was an investigation on the first Lewis-Holyfield fight it was so corrupt. Everyone who watched it knew it was an extremely bad decision. Hell ever Holyfield felt he didn't deserve a draw.

With the V.K. - Lewis fight only a delussional nuthugger minority has any problem with the outcome at all. The vast majority of people who watch boxing know that ending a fight on cuts is a legitimate way to win a fight when it's caused by a punch, which dispite all your b.s. you've convinced absolutely no one that it was caused in any other manner.

And if they fought again, I'd bet money that Vitali would again get cut, because he was cut 3 times in that fight, not once. So obviously the skin on V.K.'s face can't handle to power of Lewis' punches, that being the case why would a rematch be any different?

Vitali would have won if Lewis hadn't smashed his face open like a burst couch and forced a crushing stoppage victory.

    Klit-fan logic.
