Let's see Floyd shrug off the punch Manny landed on Hatton. Floyd will wake up in the hospital if that happens. Of course Floyd will try to avoid the punch but his only chance is to never step in the ring.
Will the 15 second youtube video of this replace the of him getting hurt against Corley in the haters ammo? I was surprised he took it, I was even more surprised he came back as aggressive as he did.
Those two punches would quite literally have killed any other human being. If there had been two elephants standing one behind the other and one of those punches had landed on the first elephant, the second elephant's head would have come off from the transferred force.
I have never seen shaky chin substitute for average jaw. He doesn't have good D because he has a shaky chin (shaky chin = below average punch resistance). That was the part that was stupid. It's some bull****. Floyd started his career at 130 and most of his fights have been there. Floyd has been in with hard hitters throughout his career and has never truly been hurt by them outside of his natural weight class which was 130-135. Yes Shane hurt him with a shot that loops and hits you on the side of your head in a spot that is known to screw with your equilibrium. He wasn't even "hit" on the chin. It wasn't even a chin shot. He has pretty fair punch resistance at 147, but pretty fair punch resistance isn't great -- Margo had GREAT GREAT punch resistance and it took 9 rounds of those type of shots to get him out. At 130 he had never been hurt, at 135 never hurt, at 140 hurt by Corley worst than he was against shane. Likewise when it comes to punch resistance there is also the factor of recovery that plays a big roll. He has tremendous recovery... better than his chin. To say he has good defense because of punch resistance issue is ridiculous. That's not why he has D, he has it because it's called being a well schooled fighter who doesn't have to absorb unnecessary damage. His D is a important aspect to his offense as it allows him to get off shots from a position while maintaining his comfort.
Yes mosley doesn't have power. You guys are ridiculous. He has a pretty decent chin, it is not shaky. When it comes to getting hurt often its the punch placement, where it lands, how it lands, not just a persons natural punch resistance. Corley had Cotto nearly out, but shane didn't really hurt cotto, buzzed him, but nothing serious at all. But cotto had good d and was never hit full force. What about Mosley vs Forrest? Forrest isn't a massive puncher either, he had less KO's then mosley... and lesser fighters with lesser chins have gone the distance with him without being on ***** street like mosley was. The first time mosley got really hit by forrest right hand right on the chin he got rocked then had his head nearly taken off by a uppercut. He was rubbery legged falling all over the place and didn't fully recover until 3 or 2 rounds later. Did he have a shaky chin then?
