I am beginning to notice a pattern with the fighters that Floyd has clearly showed disinterest in fighting, and the common attributes of the fighters he does select.

I think he avoids aggressive volume punchers. I don't think he likes guys like margarito and williams who will not give him time to set up shots and throw lead rights/left hooks.
He has to have a guy coming towards him who is thinking, and not punching, so he can use his reflexes and timing to outbox them.

I think he learned his lesson when he fought Castillo the first time, and made a conscious decision to fight boxers based on their punching output. It's like when he fought Jesus Chavez, I can remember Larry Merchant talking about "Jesus is giving a blue print how to beat Mayweather in the heavier divisions" and the closest he got to another pressure fighter was Ricky Hatton, who gave him trouble in the beginning of the fight.

Activity combined with stamina have been the issues for Floyd.

Zab Judah for the beginning of their fight.
Oscar DLH while he jabbed, during the beginning.
Jose Louis Castillo (his only real potential loss)
    Ricky Hatton swarming/hugging

I think Floyd sees Pacquiao/Williams/Margarito as volume pressure fighters big enough to get that shot in on him.

George Foreman also said in the chavez fight "you only get in trouble when you stop" and I don't see a lot of these guys sitting back and giving Floyd time to think.

I'm not saying they would all beat Floyd, I'm just saying they represent the cracks in the shell we have witnessed so rarely.

styles make fights. to me it's like paper, rock, scissors. Ali, Foreman, Frazier. Mosley, Cotto, Margarito. Pacquiao, Morales, Barrera. They've all beaten and lost to each other at some point. There is no one style that is better than the other and there never will be.

I just can't imagine Floyd ever taking on James Kirkman at 154 or something.
That would be a death sentence.

those are all differnt type of style fighters.

oscar - was a good boxer and he wanted that left hook and sayed f the jab, shame on him for not using one to set up the other.

zab judah - the man can fight and you can believe he was at his very best against mayweather.south paw and about the fastest at ww at the time when they fought.he was bound to show floyd a thing or 2 about himself.

Jose - did what he had to do, he had a game plan and stuck to it.but the injuries mayweather came in there with and suffered during the fight lets me know he did not get robbed against mayweater at 100 percent.he was suppose to do the same thing but worse in the rematch, mayweather won again and more decsisve this time around.

hatton - did well, but mayweather takes his times and looks for his shots.mayweather mixed it up well with hatton and he really just broke him down.the check left did not do it alone, by that time hatton was taking a good wackin anyways.

williams would be the hardest for mayweather to beat next to margo.pac is smaller then those guys and would not be able to land as easy as williams and margo.but hell we all know williams can be countered and margo as well, but they will put dumb pressure on floyd.more then what pac could do.

Right, but I'm talking about the activity levels, and how floyd responds.
I know the difference stylistically between hatton and DLH obviously, but I'm saying that while DLH jabbed, he was winning the fight. As soon as you start following floyd and not throwing anything, you are done.
As instance by most of his big wins.
Corrales just followed him looking for an opening, so he got ravaged.

I don't ever recall him fighting slick technical fighters or tall linky guys with a 1,2 and right hand power(Hearns, Forrest type) I think those styles will give Floyd problems but he refuses to take big risks. So much talent but not enough balls:sad2

    You're an idiot.

If Floyd learned his lesson against Castillo then why did he rematch him and beat him easily. Baldomir was a volume puncher. So was Hatton. All easy fights where he totally outclassed his opposition.

Again you're nothing but a clown who doesnt know **** about Floyd or the sport.

If Oscars jab was the reason he lost the fight, then why in the 4th round did Manny say he wasnt using his jab enough?

I believe Oscar through like 30 jabs against Floyd in the 9th round, Oscar also got punished in that round.

    Floyd took Oscars jab away.

Its Simple , be the same weight and be either number 1 or 2 in the rankings then floyd will avoid you . To get a fight with Floyd is also simple , be a Name first and foremost from a lower weight class, then be willing to move up 7 - 14lbs to get a paycheck , you get paid , and floyd keeps his ZERO , everybody happy , except the fans of course.

I agree luke o is a little *****, volume punchers all of a sudden stop being volume punchers when clean counter punches come back and sting you. Luke is just trying to find a way to get back at floyd for cumming all over his mother like i did

Floyd's excuse the first fight was his shoulder.
What was Jose's excuse for the second fight?

You don't know, because you're a biased mayweather fan.
Get off the dudes nuts, clown.

I know you're probably 16 or 17, and won't realize how stupid you sound for a few more years, but I will give you the courtesy of warning you.
You are headed towards full blown ******ation.

    You are a relentless defender.
What did Oscar say after he lost, aside from the fact that he thought he won?
What did they ask him that he "quit doing..." that cost him the later rounds?
Your knowledge of boxing is not on par with anyone you argue with.
    Everyone makes you look stupid.
