Were some of the best displays of raw power and fierce exchanges I've seen at heavyweight. Amazing ability Tyson had to take so many solid shots from Ruddock, and stay on his feet.

Tyson was an animal of ferocious power back then. Very exciting fighter who'll never be equalled when it came to sheer knockout power and excitement.

Ruddock was a very, very good HW before he fought Tyson, whatever chances he had of becoming HW champ got beaten out of him in those fights IMO.

A club fighter will look good fighting another club fighter. Not say they were bums, but Ruddock was TKO'd by David Jaco....

didnt razor have asthma or something, and was diagnosed AFTER the jaco fight? it was also assumed by doctors that he would never fight again because of that condition. this was BEFORE dokes, smith, and tyson i believe

I watched these fights recently and was surprised how bad Ruddock actually looked. He simply didn't do enough in either fight and allowed Tyson to tee off on him to the head and body and would occasionally fire back with his smash. He didn't use the jab, he didn't know how to tie Tyson up, he was basically a sitting duck for Tyson when he wasn't firing back. The only impressive aspect of his performance was his strength and ability to take punishment. I think Ruddock gets overrated based upon these fights.

Tyson looked good in both fights a much better fighter than the post prison Tyson. Better head movement and a body attack that was quite simply brutal. The body attack he unleashed on Ruddock in the first fight, I think in the second round basically had Ruddock hurt until the 5th or 6th round, it was amazing to see how much damage he did by just going downstairs. Had Tyson gone more to the body in the second fight like he did in the first fight he may have stopped Ruddock.
