The UFC were idiots to let Kimbo go.

see now this is actually a good post,

i hope they continue what there doin the flaws are there [yes cain is legit] but even saying flaws are there may be basically nit picking, every damn thing else their doing is working, i didnt bash nothing except Lesnars handling dont forget, i wish that we also kinda "force" our fighters to fight each cause that system actually works and works damn well [lol u really think silva wants to fight sonnen:D??] i hope that we get those types of matchups only when the deserving gets the benefits, and we get good fights at the end result, i will continue to watch the UFC and wish them some luck at the same time too..

They should have had him fight Chuck in a retirement fight, iceman would get the easy win and the show would have been huge on network TV. Freakshow or not.

It would have been a tough sell to keep Kimbo on board after his last four performances in the cage

This is nothing new for the UFC. They see no problem with putting on some of these freakshow events.

Freakshow is what the sport basically is................. not that there's anything wrong with that, I actually enjoy it for that reason.

Hence why UFC 1 was great because little dudes fought big fat dudes etc etc

Nah bull****. It shouldn't be a freakshow, it should be a legitimate sport. Which it has certainly become, and it will continue to evolve as better athletes choose to get into the fight game instead of football or basketball, because it's a legitimate sport with legitimate prestige instead of a circus sideshow.

Yes that is fair. But it's not fair to say that the sport as it is now is a freakshow. Because it isn't, not be a long shot. :bart :yep

Kimbo vs James Toney would have been a great freakshow fight.

FYI The Velasquez vs Dos Santos did just under 10million viewers - 8.8million on Fox and a further million on Fox Deportes. Show averaged over 7million on Fox for the first 45minutes but fell off a cliff after the fight finished.
