18 of his 20 victims have eight wins between them. Four of the 20 had more wins than losses (two of them being 1-0). Seven were making their debut (as was the only man to beat him). Has Maxwell Awuku the most padded record of anyone ever to fight for a title and who the hell approves these farces?

He fought, and beat, a former long time 'world' champion. That alone means he isn't the 'ultimate Afrobum', in fact he is far from it.

Probably is not complete, African records are very hard to compile.

Whilst that is very much the case the guy had been champion two weight divisions below and had won only once in two and a half years going in to the fight

got to remember the records are almost always incomplete (but you could say it's the other way round)

dean francis fighting michael gbenga was a bit of mismatch

Do all Commonwealth title fights have to include a British fighter? I cant recall a time when a title was contested between two foreigners?

Bellew's opponent might have been half decent at middleweight

The Africans aren't as bad as the Eurobums anyway.... that bloke Rendall fought might have been a shocking boxer but at least he turned up and had a go and went the full 12 - Nettey was it?

These Euros just turn up, take a jab and a right cross - wham bam fight's over :-(

When they fall over they get up when the count gets to the equivilant in hundreds of pounds what they are getting paid, up at 5 or 6 x 100 = payday... Have a wobble, look dodgy, back to the corner and cash in...:yep

I think Troy Ross fought a few cruiserweight Commonwealth fights without a Brit involved.

I'm not saying Ledwaba wasn't past it, but even at his state for the fight (which wasn't that bad, lost two close decisions to Cassius Baloyi just a year previously) he's a better victory on Awuku's record than what you would get with 99% of the African fighters that have come over here recently.

Dominic Vea vs Oscar Siale, my fight of the year, was for the Commonwealth title. It's great how much they respect the title in Australia compared to us who take it for granted :good
