Indeed. I have a very analytical mind when it comes to boxing, I love breaking down styles, checking out moves and why and how they work...I understand Floyd, I enjoy watching Floyd from an analytical POV. However that is not to say guys like Pac isnt "beautiful boxing" either. Those guys are blind and doesnt appreciate real boxing beauty...they see 1 type and thats it...boxing is an art, martial art...ultimately the beauty of the art is the success derived from it. If something is unsuccesful, the move is discarded...both Floyd & Pac has had success with their styles...therefore both their moves belong in boxing.

Also people gotta remember to stop spouting this BS that boxing is about running. Wrong, boxing was first invented as "prizefighting", 2 tough guys beat each other up with fist and get paid to entertain...Second boxing is about "hitting and not getting hit", not "not get hit and hit", its first and foremost about dishing out the punishment whilst trying to avoid as much punishment as possible in the process...not try to avoid as much punishment as possible and hit...thats called running. Might as well not fight, nobody gets hurt...you wanna play that game play fencing, game of "tag".

Good article. I've enjoyed most of Mayweather's fights throughout his career. People that don't like his fights probably don't appreciate the actual art of the sweet science. Mayweather has to talk or a lot of fans and media won't pay him any attention. How many people pay attention to Chad Dawson?

Oow! Do you even play chess? I say I don't like Floyd's boxing style but I'm sure I'm just one of the few posters here who follow chess matches.

Quick, who was the last guy to beat Judit Polgar? You will know this easily if you follow chess matches.

(hopefully the tournament was buried somewhere in Google search :D)

    What a terrible last paragraph

There is no difference between hitting and not getting hit and not getting hit and hitting. For example if my opponent throws a punch and i hit (COUNTER) and then i dont get hit that is both hit and dont get hit and dont get hit and hit. His method of fighting would fall into both catogories which are one of the same.

how can it be a good post when he thinks there is a difference between hitting and not getting hit and not getting hit and hitting:rofl:rofl

Lets put his stupidity into logic.

Floyd mayweather, throws a punch and then he dont get hit. This would be HIT AND DONT GET HIT.

An opponent throws a punch floyd mayweather hits (COUNTERS) and then dont get hit, this would be BOTH HIT AND DONT GET HIT AND DONT GET HIT AND HIT.

    Your stupidity is amazing.

Now look at this video and see how stupid the statement you agree with is.

the principle aspect of boxing is to knock the other guy out. or at least give the opponent a beating :patsch
not hit and run. do you even need to go back and read about the history of boxing?

Exactly. It seems some people just come on the forum to abuse and insult people just because they dont agree with them. In addition they dont add anything factual, just their opinion. Also, if Floyd is such a boring and running fighter, why watch his fights? Because the last time I checked, Floyds last 3 or 4 fights were on PPV. Some of the hate is beyond personal, they act like Floyd broke up with them or caught him cheating. It is a weird attraction.

effective movement is part of boxing. most of us enjoy all aspects of boxing, all types of fighters. brawls are awesome sure, but so are artistic masterpieces such as ali-williams, whitaker-nelson, mayweather-gatti (rip) or hopkins-joppy. it's all boxing and it's all beautiful

The article is spot on if you have any objectivity.
