    No haters or huggers. :deal

    How did he look tonight.?

Did he really run like many said on round by round? Or was he just very slick defensively?

Potential matchup with Pac... how do you see it going?

He ran at the end, but in a show off kind of way. I also think he was tired. He clearly won, he was clearly in another class, but I think he would tire against Pacquiao and lose. Not sure Pacquiao could hurt him, because Soto hit him flush often to no avail.

He has great handspeed, still throws looping punches, and honestly his running at the end was irrelevant because there were times he stood right in front of Soto and dodged every blow.

Also, to be sure the point gets across, there were many times in the fight where Guzman stood and traded, and got the better of the exchange. And often his running wasn't running but circling, because he stayed in range and would jab Soto.

    He looked very impressive

His handspeed is second to none at 130 and it allowed him to get the better of Soto in exchanges. When he kept it in the center of the ring, he was most effective, but even on the ropes, his slickness and defense made it extremely hard for Soto to land clean shots. He is a great counterpuncher too and he certainly landed a fair amount of counter left hooks and right hands.

He ran at times during the end of the fight, but in a showboating sort of manner. But most of the times, he stayed in range and outboxed Soto. Overall, a very impressive performance. I would pick him over Juan Manuel Marquez, Manny Pacquiao, and Edwin Valero.

He looked better then i expected.. He didn't run like Soto and his people claimed he would. He was very slick defensively and rolled alot of Sotos punches. Very fast hands and quick feet. Looks like he has very good stamina too and can take a pretty good punch. He was actualy backing up Soto in the fight a few times rather then the other way around. Guzman beats Pac IMO

And if you look at my Guzman vs Soto predictions thread you'll see i said he has ELITE skills. I think he showed them tonight against a tough fighter with pretty good skills himself in Soto

he looked great, boxed circles around Soto when he needed to and traded when he wanted. Guzman controlled the fight. he was easily. Dont listen to anyone who thought it was even close.

He looked very good. He's older and his weight fluctuates too much. He may have a short successful career.

KG- do you see Guzman's tendancy to fatigue as being related to trying to make weight (I heard he was 148lbs tonight)?

Brooklyn- How do you see him fighting Pac (what strategy)?

Question for both: If Guzman has to move up in weight, how would he fare.... he already has little power for 130lbs.

He looked very good, his running in circles away from Soto was a bit dissappointing but not a bad performance. Soto could have let his hands go a little more on the ropes but Guzman's defense kept him cool for most of the fight.

I don't think Pacquiao would be able to hurt him, never mind out boxing, but speed vs speed should gives us an interesting fight.

He can outbox a 135lb fighter if his chin holds up, and it looks solid.

His tendency to fatigue may be due to gaining weight. It would hurt him against Pacquiao. He DOES have the skills to outbox Pacquiao for 8-9 rounds and then hope the lead holds. But that is a hard proposition. But make no mistake, the guy can fight. And with his chin, he would be interesting in the ring with Pacquiao.

Valero shouldn't be mentioned, he's nothing special other than power, but otherwise I agree and have stood by this for a while.

Guzman is the best fighter at 130 pounds and has been avoided his entire career accordingly.

He has tremendous speed, hes a more exciting version than Mayweather.

No one in the division can hurt him, but I do question his offense, he likes to trade when he moves forward but looks bad when exchanging.

Id pick JMM over him, call it 50-50 against Pac, and pick him to UD everyone else.

I see him using a similar strategy against Pacquiao. He would keep the fight in the middle of the ring, slip/catch and counter. On the ropes, he would slip and counter as well, but I'd imagine Pacquiao would have the most success with Guzman against the ropes. In the end, Guzman would be landing the cleaner shots and would land more shots than Pacquiao. Guzman could also get the better of Pacquiao in exchanges, but he wouldn't want to get in too many.

Not a final analysis or anything, just a quick guess. I'd have to rewatch some of their fights to get a better picture of how a fight between them would turn out. Pacquiao would do better than Soto in my opinion.
