Guzman didnt run!!..And IMO he is the best at 130lb..I dont think anyone at 130 can match his skill

Yeah, he's a titleholder, but a step below Pacquiao, Marquez, and Guzman. I would favor Soto over Valero. Do you think Barrera could possibly beat Valero, even at this stage?

He made Soto look very average indeed.

Only possible criticism is that in 2 rounds, he ran a bit - but that was after winning the round clearly in all possible ways, and it was done more as a showboating trick, showing off his footwork -

He was better than Soto by a mile in: boxing, trading, dodging blows against the ropes and hitting back like a cat...

Guzman was very smooth - his movement was excellent, very fast - Soto was always playing catchup, Guzman was very precise and clean - had a very high percentage of hits/throws...dominated Soto in every aspect, including power punching, trading on the inside, taking a punch...everything...

Guzman won that by at big margin - and never, for one moment looked in any danger or outclassed or in any way not in control. Guzman is Guzman - this performance was very reminiscent of the performance against Barrios, because, if you go in he ring with Guzman, you dance to HIS music. :good

He was salsa dancing infront of Guzman. And Soto still coudnt hit him. It was a beautiful performance. I had it 10-2. And Soto is no pushover.

Yes, Barrera likely knocks him the **** out too. I'm tired of hearing about Valero, aside from his obvious power, he's not that skilled, not that fast and lacks other good attributes like good timing. His chin is also quite suspect.

Looked good in the first half of the fight (although he got the worse end of almost every exchange that was in close), got more defensive in rounds 6 - 9, then actually ran the last three rounds. Basically, he figured out that if he just kept moving laterally and switching his direction every 10 seconds or so, Soto could never catch up with him. He wasn't running like Andre Dirrell, but he certainly was trying to prevent Soto from engaging him. It was a winning strategy, but it also probably hurts his ability to get any more money fights. I still gave Guzman every round except the last 3.

I could see him beating Pac if Pac tries to fight like he did against Barerra. If he can go back to brawling, and use his own speed to cut off the ring (Soto just wasn't quick enough to do this), then I see Pac winning.

I'm kind of in the same boat that you are on this....

Guzman offensive arsenal doe'nt really impress me. Its not bad, but certainly others in the division, including Soto's is better.

There is no question tha Guzman's combination of speed, quickness, and just outright mass, makes him a threat to any 130 pounder.
Guzman is just huge for a 130 pounder.

I think you're right that Marquez would have the best chance at beating Guzman, simply because Marquez has better offensive skills and throws straight punches in comparison with Guzman's more looping shots.
Even so, its a tough matchup even for Marquez.....if Guzman decides to make it a dancing contest, seeing that Guzman has better speed and is quicker.....that can make it difficult for a fighter like Marquez who's best choice is to fight the much bigger Guzman is off the backfoot.

I'd agree, 50/50 against Pac.....Pac does shoot a straight left. Much straighter than Guzman's shots......Pac will land that straight left often, but if he's unable to hurt Guzman?????
I doubt Pac would outbox Guzman, although I'd question Guzman's stamina, Pac could outwork him and outhustle him down the stretch.
.....after having it 6-3-1 in rounds after 10 complete, Soto on my card took the last 2 because Guzman simply ran and Soto outhustled him.
......so although, Guzman had it pretty much in hand after 10, those two rounds at the end made it razor close on my card 115-114!

No question that Guzman's combination of speed, quickness, and size mass, makes him a tough beat for any 130 pounder!

Well I didn't bet on that but I could have lost . . . I'm expecting Guzman to box and Sotto would land big punches later in the fight but Guzman outwit Sotto till the end so he won a U.D. as expected.

Potential Pac Match up? After this fight . . . the more I don't see it happening. Pac always wanted a slugfest and I don't think he will take the risk of fighting a boring fighter like Guzman. Win or lose . . . Pac's reputation will be dragged down instead of increasing it.

Take note that people like Pac NOT because he is the most technically skilled fighter . . . people like the guy because of the action and excitement he brings into every fight.

If the JMM fight pushes through . . . I can see Pac going up at 135 after that to fight any of the Diazes or Katsidis.
