Underrated: Younger George Foremans handspeed and punching accuracy

Tony Galento and Ken Norton, more so Norton who I doubt will ever get his dues.

Overrated: Holyfield-Bowe trilogy 1st fight was good, 2nd was kinda meh but exciting during certain points and 3rd one was quite bad, Holyfield was a zombie. Bowe-Golota was much better.

Riddick Bowe in general, so much is overrated about him his chin, power, jab, and H2H ability all get greatly exaggerated based on basically 1 convincing victory over Holyfield

I agree about Riddick Bowe. Never understand all the love the guy gets here. He wasn't very good.

Golota exposed Bowe..forget the low blows...if he never strayed with his punches he would have stopped Bowe..Bowe is indeed overrated...just imagine what Lewis would have done to him.
Rodrigo Valdez is underrated. The second Briscoe bout shows him at his best. He was just unfortunate to be in Monzon's era.

    Overrated: Mike Tyson-Evander Holyfield 1

    This won for 1996 Ring's FOTY over Bowe-Golota 2, Barrera-McKinney, Liles-Littles 2, Gatti-Rodriguez, Kelley-Gainer 1.

Ridiculous. A big event and upset doesn't make a pretty good action fight better than GREAT action fights like some of the ones mentioned above.

Overrated: Oscar De La Hoya-Ike Quartey

2 exciting rounds, and 10 slow rounds, many of which was a pose-fest. People have terrible memories and remember the 2 good rounds and forget how action-less much of the fight was. Not a chess-match where one guy makes a mistake and the other capitalizes, but just two guys doing little.

    Underrated: Kennedy McKinney-Welcome Ncita 1

Very good fight, with an ATG round 11.

Agreed. The Ring used to do that every year in the early 70's. The most significant heavyweight fight in a given year was always dubbed FOTY. Ick.
