Mate he is awesome and IMO demands to be rated right up with with Sal and co. GREAT fighter.

 

who ever said Marvin was unbeatable? No one apart from revolver as far as i remember. I just dont see Hagler as being over rated. Sure there are other fighters who have a claim to be number 1 at middle and it id perfectly reasonable to have Hagler anywhere from 1 to 5 but if anyone rates him at 1, its hardly over rating him.

 

Personally, I liked his killer instinct. He fought an opponent called Martinez on the Tyson v Bruno I undercard, and finished him during the 10th I'm sure. Handspeed and precision, breathtaking.

And the stoppage of Fenech in the rematch also worth a mention.

I have his fight with Cowdell on video. Well, it looked as if Cowdell had been hit with a round from an AK-47.

Easily the most underrated of the past 25 years. He deserves to be mentioned with Leonard, Hagler, Whitaker, Jones, etc.

Saw the Martinez fight live, super effort. Nelson really rose to the big occasions. I can't see why he can't be bracketed with those you mention.
