I have no idea what this article has to do with Floyd or whatever point you're trying to make about him. But it is a good article nonetheless.

mosley is a parter in GBP...his "jumping ship" can be taken as a conflict of interests by GBP, thus the stock buy-back offer...i assume

either way, like i said, shane is looking out for #1 short term, and that is fine, but there are business consequences to that, and he should have understood that

Interesting article. Thx for sharing. Shane is one of my favorite fighters. I think he has given a lot to the sport. And I respect that he is looking out for his best interests. But, I think JMM deserves this fight with Manny, more than anyone else. Shane can still make good money fighting the likes of Cotto or Margarito, if those fights can be made.

I know you are a troll and all but Floyd is far from being his own man. What advise does he need to have to fight someone? Either he wants to fight or he ducks PERIOD. If Floyd had any brains he would have followed in Oscars footsteps and opened up his own promotional brand and named it Chicken Duck Promotions, fought for himself and kept his entire purse.. as it stands his dumb as squandered away his money, and had to come back to Oscar to bail him out. And theres nothing you can say to dispute that :good

i thought Floyd does have his own promotional brand?

Shane got raped financially in that divorce & NEEDS money NOW. He just wants to cash out. He's being his own man. Top Rank is top dog & they are running the show. Get down or lay down

Not to interject MMA into Boxing BUT.. Would you ever see a UFC fighter fight in strike force? No...
I'm starting to think GBP and TR should just be like totally separate promotions with totally seperate shows and let that be that... Let each company fill their rosters with all weight classes, build their divisions up, and put on great shows for the fans.

MMA learned ALOT from boxing... from his own mouth Dana White took what he thought worked great for boxing and started fixing what didn't work... Why can't boxing learn from those "REPAIRS"....

GBP and TR should ust put on their own shows with their own fighters... the fans will watch both... It would completely eliminate all this cross promoting BS.

It's basically what Bob Arum has been doing anyways.. a least leaning that way. The smaller promoters who can't afford to put on the big shows will go away and/or get swallowed up... so what.. that's a GOOD thing.

Fighters would be free to sign with the promotion they want to sign with, and would sign contracts for X amount of fights and X amount of dollars etc. The promotions are free to let the fighter go anytime they want like after shitty performances etc.. and if a fighter does well it's on the promotion company's shoulders to anty up and offer a better contract or the fighter can migrate on to the next promotion...

I'm a big fan of Shane but he is in the wrong here. Loyalty is a two-way street and he is chasing one last pay day instead of looking at the big picture.

Not only did GBP give Shane his biggest payday and opportunity of a lifetime on May 1, 2010, they gave him a follow up million dollar plus payday against someone who he should have beaten and would have put him in position for another multi-million dollar fight. He is acting like a spoiled child and not taking any responsibility for his **** poor performances.

In 2010, Mosley was paid around 10 million dollars plus whatever sponsorship dollars/promoter cut he is entitled to. Best financial year of his career and he is 38 years old, not too bad if you ask me.

Either way, he has burned his bridges at GBP. I hope for his sake he gets the Pac fight, otherwise his future prospects appear dim. GBP > Shane Mosley Promotions.
