    Welcome. And good choice. Boxing is full of hard-nosed contenders who might well have reigned for a while in other eras but just came around at a time when a great fighter was at the top. Yaqui Lopez is another guy that springs to mind like that.

    If we're just talking decisions etc, I'd nominate Alvaro "Yacqui" Lopez. Fes Oquendo and Kenneth Norton deserve mentions, too. Andrew Golota as well.

    If we're talking luck across the board, then it has to be a Duk Koo Kim, or Benny Paret, or someone who lost their life.

    Salvador Sanchez is another tragedy , he would have been top 10 p4p in almost every list if he could have carried on for a few more years , assuming a pace close to d 1 he had .
