Lora's a pretty bold call. The guy was one of the slickest fighters I've ever seen. He was one of the ones in mind when I excluded Pep from my top 5 defensive fighters list.
He's often the shoe-in choice for fastest fighter of all time. I'd probably have him top 5, but no higher. Jones Jr., Davis Jr, Camacho, and Leonard impressed me more with their handspeed. Taylor was often a shoe-shiner, whereas those guys put body into their blows, whether in single shot or combination.
Oh, I agree......And I would say Lora was the better and more skilled fighter..... They are pretty similar in their styles actually......both were great fighting against the ropes......I can see a close fight most of the time between them.....I wouldn´t bet my house on it, but I would favor Medel at his best......
The most overrated fighters on this forum is: Duran-this dudes overratedness is astounding Monzon-He is as slow as a turtle Whitaker-his comp was weak and he hit like a girl at straweight Pac-theres not a shot in the world this guy dosent get hit with Hearns would kill these 3 guys and most of the greats from 147 to 160 on 1 of his less than peak nites hell he did maul the quiter and it would be the same outcome everyday and every hour of the day and he would have beat Hagler in the rematch. He should be rated much higher its a travesty the criteria of some these ****head historians..
My stance is, don't move up if you can't have it. If he's gonna get a ton of credit for great wins up there(He SHOULD!), you can't just erase his losses. Its clear he grew into those weightclasses, as he never moved back down for any serious period of time, and managed to go blow for blow with huge guys. Can't just give a fighter a pass cause they move beyond their comfort zone.
