For Froch's first defence he traveled to America to fight Jermain Taylor as an underdog. Calzaghe's first defence was in Wales against Branko Sobot. Enough said really.

Yeah, Joe was a popular fighter people wanted to watch in his home land whilst Carl was an arrogant **** that no one cared about until the Sky hype train came along.

But Froch has never had decent backing until Hearn came along, also only over the past few years has he become a known commodity in the UK.

Also Taylor was beaten in much better manner by Pavlik and Abraham. Nothing against Froch as a fighter but he is known as a warrior because he has wars against fighters, truly ATG/ elite skilled fighters beat or should beat handily.

Bit ironic since you are discrediting Calzaghes victory over Hopkins.

The same Hopkins who would have beaten any version of Froch and probably still could.

joe was practically not spoke of or mentioned untill very late on in his career when froch was starting to make a name

if he was that popular why did he need to go to vegas for good money as he put it before retirement :think

i will remind you froch as probably earnt 8o% of joes entire earnings in one fight :yep:lol::hi:

Froch has always been a bit arrogant and a bit awkward in front of the cameras, which, when you look at the context of it (he is a successful professional boxer), it shouldn't be held against him to much.

His reaction immediately after the first Groves fight didn't help matters, though.

As for Froch - Calzaghe; you can pick apart both guys resumes for hours, but, for me, head to head, prime Calzaghe beats a prime Froch by a relatively wide UD.

Calzaghe had everything and more that gives Froch nightmares. When they were on Ringside together last year didn't Froch admit that he basically only stood a punchers chance against Calzaghe?

yep and we have to live with that

but you also have to take challenges put in front of you

something joe was very reluctant to do read his bio

joe seemed confused about weather he wanted titles money or legacy

i still dont think he knows which him self he wanted :hey
