So far from the Usky hype train we've heard: Usyk will be the fastest heavyweight - you can't catch him Usyk has a great chin tested against good heavyweights - you can't drop him Usyk ain't known for power but who needs power - power is overrated Usyk will beat every heavy weight today - via UD Joshua won't be able to cut off the ring against Usyk Joshua won't be able to catch Usyk Joshua is incapable of knocking Usyk out Joshua would lose to Usyk Did I miss something? "Everyone has a plan till they get punched in the face by Wilder or Joshua" Oleksandr Usyk the Hero of BoxingForum24: He doesn't have a name So death can't find him Doesn't have a home or people to care for He's not afraid of anything, men least of all He's fast and strong like a big wind He can hear a hundred miles and see a hundred miles underwater -He can hide in the shadow of the noon sun He could be right behind you, and you won't even know it 'til you're dead! Quote - Waterworld 1995
Usyk's attributes. Stamina 9 Speed 9 Skill 9 Chin 9 power 6 Pick the odd one out, and it tends to be the most important attribute at heavyweight. Does anybody seriously think this puny cruiser weight can fend off the superior bodybuilder Joshua long enough to launch some kind of attack!? What about Wilder too? Can he actually evade all the wild looping punches in perfect sequence, to stopped being windmilled into oblivion? Lol the bomb squad would be scraping his remains off the canvas. Now I don't want to hear about this Usyk again, lol.
He sure wasnt untouchable against Briedis! Before picking him to beat the top guys at HW, we need to see how he does against low top 10 to top 20 opponent. It certainly on the face of it looks like he could be competitive against an AJ or Wilder. But we have seen great HWs of the recent past fail at HW- David Haye being the most notable recent example.
I don't mind Usyk being succesful at heavyweight, he is a very likable guy. The problem is that he gets already compared with Muhammad Ali and whoever compares him to Ali has only seen the post-exile Ali and even that guy was probably superior in the ring iq, chin and power department. Usyk has good movement but he is hittable and imo his jab won't be as effective at heavyweight against the bigger guys. I think Usyk has the potential to be a formidable heavyweight but i think it's overzealous to assume he would school everyone.
I think he's got fantastic movement and footwork for someone his size, I would like to see how he gets on with a much bigger fighter, someone who might lean on him and try and rough him up a bit, I actually think Tyson Fury (if fit) would be a stylistic nightmare for Usyk
I don't mind him moving to HW, he's a very skilled fighter, the more the merrier. He will have a tough time getting big fights, he will have to be very persistent and disciplined to get the massive purses he is after.
Im looking forward to seeing him take on the big guys, but i think Joshua will spark him eventually. Might be similar to Khan v Canelo, nit that im comparing Khan to Usyk but i mean in terms of the fight pattern.
There’s no hype. He’s won all the belts in the toughest division in boxing and fought killers in the WBSS. Meanwhile Bellew turned his back and got battered by a blown up SMW and couldn’t knock out an exhausted alcoholic LHW at CW.
He's a great boxer. GOAT no doubt. Funny character. I really like his hairstyles. Heavy weight contender/ future champ?? = HYPE Beats Joshua at heavy weight? = HYPE
I'm on the train! There's no stopping it Oh wait, this isn't that kind of hypetrain thread is it?! This is the hatetrain instead... I'm in the wrong thread
