At least some of the hype about Usyk (in addition to his skills) is that he trains properly, always comes into fights totally in shape, will take a fight in his opponent's back yard, seems to make fights happen without too much negotiation drama, fights reasonably often ... and most importantly he's not afraid to fight the best. I think boxing fans tend get behind most fighters like this.

There are some others at HW with the same kind of mindset/attributes, but they are the minority.

You are not respecting Joshua or talking up a potential-long term rival when said rival has had zero professional fights at heavyweight and Joshua has three belts (defended how many times?) 22 fights, 21 KO's... and is significantly bigger to warrant a size mismatch.

That is outright ridiculous. And even more so because heavy is and always will be a completely different ballgame to all the other weight classes.

Jumping between 154/160/168/175/200 yeah fair play... going to heavyweight is so very different, especially in the age of super heavies. It's just physically a different universe. Even if you are more than 200 pounds, there are levels to this game, a blown up 220 pound man is not the same as a lean natural 245 pound man with serious height and reach advantages.

lol come on bro, the same can be said for Joshua, and Dillian and Takam and many more...

Joshua the most,
• He's always in shape,
• Always looks the part
• He has more pressure than Usyk with more chances to lose a fight when fighting heavy weights with knockout power
• To perform in front of 80 000 fans
• To have defended the belts several times
• To have already earned 10's of millions of pounds and to STILL be hungry!

You try making 5 million pounds and tell me if you turn up to work the next day? Will you?

What if I told you .. you could get hurt at work? Or that you had to perform your job in front of 80 000 onlookers...

And also to have shared a lot of your time supporting the community and being an ambassador for the sport... no im not talking about self-promotion either.. others can focus more on jus training and not being in the limelight to maintain a good persona and rolemodel.

People don't put themselves in other peoples shoes to ask these questions...

Why is this important to you? I get it, you're a fan but, oh boy, why worry about it? We'll find out one day if the hype - soon to be ramped up by Matchroom - is justified. It's all part of what makes boxing engaging...

It's just as important as any other hype job where logic has failed. This almost as equal to me as flat earth theory.

Logic is important to me. When people make baseless claims I need to understand WHY? And because real boxing champions are being referenced here, and their hard work is overlooked as a result, there is that as an emotional aspect.

I see it takes a lot of work to get to where Joshua is now, and it's just been given zero respect saying Usyk can fast track all that experience and be heavyweight champion.

If the argument was the other way round and Joshua somehow moved to cruiser weight, I'd be in Usyk's corner all day long if it was said that Joshua beats Usyk.

Yeah we will see what happens in the future and I'll leave it at that.

I like Parker as a person and as my countryman. Doesn't stop me from seeing that Usyk is an awful stylistic match-up. I struggle to see how Parker is going to get near enough to land any of his bombs, Dillian was gassed and had no defense when Parker put him down, and yet Parker still didn't have the stamina to finish him. If Usyk was similarly buzzed he'd just have to run away for a bit while his head cleared.

Usyk is the real deal. He's got the speed to outbox all the current heavyweights, and the skill to outslug them. As long as the winner of Wilder vs Fury fi- woah hold on, lets not get ahead of ourselves here. As long as Wilder and Fury fight each other, as in they actually enter the same ring at the same time and have a real fight, and the winner fights Joshua, Usyk can do it. Because very few heavyweights in history could take on Joshua, Wilder, Fury in a row. Usyk isn't that proven yet.

What you're missing is that sometimes excellent amateurs can forgo some of that pro experience. E.g. Loma winning a world title in his third fight against a strong opponent in the form of Garry Russell Jr. Would it be disrespectful to have predicted a Loma victory before that fight?

Similarly, Usyk was dominant in the HW and superheavyweight amateur divisions before turning pro. History shows that the top cruisers can be competitive at HW: e.g. Huck nearly beat Povetkin on his first fight up, Briedis KO'ed WBA regular champ Charr. In general a top p4p-level guy from the division below can be a serious contender in the next division. So why not Usyk?

Like I said before, if you think the elite HWs (Joshua, Wilder, maybe Fury if he gets back) beat/KO Usyk then fine, that's perfectly reasonable. But you verge on the opposite, you seem to think Usyk has no chance of doing anything at HW and I struggle to see where this confidence comes from given the lack of evidence. When Usyk fights a decent HW or two then we'll have more to talk about.

He might have done with a minute more. Dillian - wisely - went all Okolie for the last 30 seconds and used what strength he had left until the final bell. Which is why i think those two should share a ring again: the 'what if?'. And it was a good scrap....

Yes, I think he would've got the KO if he had an extra minute. Infuriating that he showed zero urgency before that, a better trainer would've recognized the situation IMO. Pity he's sticking to Barry, he may not be the most talented in the division but he has enough talent to beat Dillian and be a solid top 4-5 guy.

Well there's a theme developing here. Parker isn't ruthless enough: in and out of the ring.

The best guy who actually knows how well Usyk COULD do is this guy in the link( ALI BASHIR ) who thinks he will defeat just about everyone( im skeptical )

https://112.international/sport/usyk-will-beat-bellew-parker-and-white-ali-bashir-30565.html

The one guy he doesn't think Usyk would beat is Joshua and he is very biased on Usyk bc that was his guy and knows HW boxing obviously .
