Rusty Nonito was having difficulty penetrating the defense of his game South African opponent Mthalane in the early rounds. Then he shifted to southpaw stance to confuse his opponent and unleash his much vaunted left hooks. But it was his right that finally made a dent on his opponent's eye to earn him a TKO win.

Nonito is a versatile and talented fighter. It's just too bad he got sidelined for almost a year without fight. With his new manager, Bob Arum, we hope he gets the right fights to earn for himself his real place in boxing history.

Make way to the real champ, Nonito Donaire. He needs only to repeat his victory against Darchinyan to become one of the top 10 P4P fighters.

Darchinyan vs Donaire in March 2009.

    :deal word

i'm very confident that once he gets the quality fights, we'll see the real nonito donaire, jr., not the rusty fighter we saw last night (who i think would have lost to the version of darchi who destroyed mijares)

    war nonito!

the cut came from a powerful punch not a headbutt...all part of the game.
Vic was winning the fight earlier and the KO was the icing on the cake. Dont compare Mijares to Nonito, they're very different.

Nonito KO's Vic again in a rematch

It's not Nonito who sets the fights, it's the promoters. The promoters thought it best not to come out w/ a rematch because Darchi was badly beaten and the fight won't click. It was not as if it was a close fight that a rematch should be called. Actually, no one would like to fight Nonito as he was sidelined for almost a year without a fight.

Nonito was going down? What fight did you see?

I think Nonito had a Rahman moment. He wasnt winning when he KO'ed Vic but he wasnt losing either just a game fighter. I think Vic avenges that loss with a KO. But Im not sure he will fight him.

That was not the same Vic in the ring, but Vic only has a punchers chance. Flash is truly fast with great footwork.
