    In the entire career of George Foreman, no one ever did this to him ... his exhaustion losses to Ali and Young are slaps compared to this ... George Foreman has said time and again no one ever hit him as hard as Ron Lyle did ..

    absolutely, foreman took shots from joe frazier,ken norton,gerry cooney,bert cooper, alex stewart,tommy morrison,briggs, prime holyfield(who did put the weight of his body on his blows in combinations),michael moorer.. and no other puncher did put foreman down early. and the fight with lyle did show the heart and the chin of george too. and the only factor was not the hitting power, lyle could punch and he could fight. really i think that lyle would ko norton.

    You're right ... Lyle was a monster ... he simply started his career too late to fully develop his natural gifts ... he was never going to be fast a foot but he had natural size, reach, strength, heart and huge power ... a fierce warrior ...

    I love when the clueless use who someone knocked out as the sole gage of how hard a fighter hits, as if styles and over all skill sets mean nothing ... it just shows a lack of knowledge ...

    and still lyle did his pro debut in his 30s,
    ,ali,foreman,young,bonavena,bugner,shavers,quarry... all them were younger than lyle imagine a prime lyle in his 20s

    Every smart trainer knows the value of a top amateur career to a fighter developing long term skill sets and muscle memory ... Lyle did not start as an amateur until his late 20's .. most start ten years earlier ..
