I had a question about the footwork move I have heard referred to as the "Walk-Off".

It's a move that was popularized by Jersey Joe Walcott. It's basically a way of just walking around or "off" your opponent instead of the traditional step and slide, skip or bounce.

If your orthodox standing at an angled stance, after you throw/defend, you walk by taking 2-3 steps to your right to give you a new angle and cause your opponent to reset and it in effect turns them. The path would be diagonal right.

My question is this to those who use it: Do you take the first step with the left (lead) foot and then follow it with the right? Or do you start with the rear foot, then a step with the left and another with the right? The 2 step seems more natural, but the 3 step seems it might be more effective.

    Thoughts?

You don't really have to walk, you can just shuffle to the side like they do in the Olympics when they're winning.

Zab does it a lot and fires a left uppercut after it. You kinda look away took your chin behind your shoulder and stop walking and shoot the lead hand.
