Young Foreman's famous quote. "Liston was the only fighter who could back me up (occurred in sparring)". In Frazier vs Foreman I, Frazier came forward, but Foreman used calculated movement to control the fighters positions in the ring (surprisingly).

Really interested in this thread as it is one of my top dream match ups of all time. My thoughts on the outcome changes from year to year. I'll admit I may overestimate Liston. Beast... Pure beast. All you knowledgeable guys (and gals)... Enlighten me! Only opinion I can offer is the judges would probably not be required. Wouldn't want to be the ref though... How about Andre the Giant!?

    Liston for sure.

Take away their power, and Liston is still a formidable fighter.

I think it's a battle of jabs , if Sonny can establish his he might take George past 5 and KO him. If they collide in a firefight early probably George. I couldn't call a favorite here.

Pretty much my thoughts as well. Foreman early or Liston mid to late. Forget about the scorecards.

In all likelihood, neither of these scenario's would happen.

Liston would probably put on a semi cautious counter punching clinic, and pick Foreman apart.

Foreman was a human force of nature. Incredibly powerful fighter. Ram rod jab. Iron chin and what separates the great and ATG hwt champions ....incredible will to win. He gets my vote as the ultimate beast.

Was that 70s Foreman or 90s Foreman that had the iron chin?

Liston was not that good to put on such a technical display. Not at all.
