have every fighter lose. Thats the only thing that might satisfy you all. Taylor fights the best....everyone wants to see him knocked out. Mayweather wins titles in 5 divisions, 3 undisputed championships...everyone wants to see him knocked out. Pacquaio fights ATGs...everyone says its not enough. Wlad revenges a loss....everyone says it didnt mean anything. Boxing fans are the ****ing worst. I bet on a tennis board they arent all hoping Federer destroys his knees, or a basketball board that says Lebron is all hype because he ONLY went to the finals when he was 22. Or a football board that says LT was an overhyped bum
Fans root for the fighters they like, whether personally or the way they fight in the ring or both. Also, some people go for the underdog and some root for the undefeated to stay undefeated. Some just can't stand a certain guy and will root for anyone to beat them. It's pretty simple Illmatic. In the end, almost all fans respect what these warriors do and that's why we watch.
agreed 100%:good What's amazing aswel, is that fighters that are really hated like FMJ, Calzaghe, Wlad, Pacman by certain people, would then be hyped to the last by those same people if their own favourite was to beat them.
Boxing fans get greedy anyway when their most hated fighters finally lose. They want to see that fighter lose more. Or they want to rub it in to that particular fighter's fanatics when the guy loses, but their fanatics have excuses anyway. "Wlad was drugged" "Oscar was robbed against Mayweather" "Tyson took too much anti-depressants" And so forth.
Its the structure of the sport. In almost all other sports, the teams and players always fights the best. Most are organised in tourney's too so the best always comes out on top fighting through everyone. Its very unlike boxing where fighters get to pick and choose who they fight when they fight. Even in MMA, fighters routinely fight the best. Guys like Fedor get universal respect.
It is because boxing is about violence - many will probably disagree, but in its core boxing is violent. And the fans se the fighters doing the battles for them, smashing up everything they don´t like. Very primitive, but that´s how it works.
Just for the record, FLOYD NEVER WON ONE UNDISPUTED CHAMPIONSHIP. He' held two Lineal titles(30,47) and 5 alpha belts, which isnt the same thing. I credit taylor for fighting the best, the exact opposite of PBF:good You'll never satisfy everyone, but most can at least respect a righteous path.
You can never satisfy all boxing fans because some of these boxing fans are not boxing fans but fans of particular boxers. The only way they are satisfied if their particular favorite boxer wins. For what I seen on this board there are plenty of these type of fans. They will do anythiing to discredit a particular boxer to build up theirs.
Actually the way to satisfy me would be to have fighters fighting each other way more often. Its not all about being undefeated. Sometimes a fighter can lose to a guy once, and would beat that same guy one week later. the stats are stats but you gotta watch the fights to know whats what. Thats why i think that fighters should fight more often. More rematches, more tournaments, more everything. Its a shame boxing can **** up the brain. By the way i dont want any fighter to lose, but I do want better fighters to beat them.
the thing about boxing fans is they have their favorites and they will defend them nonstop... and if another boxer beats their favorites or they think others are getting rated above their favorites then they will rationalize in rediculous ways. plus, they never really wanna give credit to anyone unless they are one of their favorites. i mean sultan ibragimov and ruslan chagaev are about to unify their belts and most people on here are talking about how it doesnt mean anything and that they arent good anyway. its rediculous.
