I think it was my first time seeing Alexander. Memorys a bit ****ed but it was a hellish trade off. Was the undercard of Harry Simon, think it was the same bill ? Something makes me think it was the same bill anyways, why i should put all ma vids onto PC.
thought warren did a rubbish job for him. he won the european and wasn't given any worthwhile opponents and put back to 6 rounders. he weren't world class but deserved to earn some decent corn out of the european title.
remember watching that one live. 3 rd classic. :bbb thought he was stopped early in that last 1 round stoppage loss he had to. bloody british refs. atsch
Damn i remember that KO of takaloo, I was expecting big things of Tak, I remember even Calzaghe being ringside to support him lol, He was outboxing Wayne for my money, but dropped his right hand as he went for the body and BOOM! Wayne sure did have freakish power!
Great punch but this is the same guy who got dropped and badly hurt against Howard Clarke and stopped by Delroy Mellis
In the 2nd tier of British punchers alongside guys like Chris Pyatt. MA-HUSSIVE puncher but didn't knock out anyone special. But seriously......WOW!
My god, I used to train and spar with Wayne around 93/94 over at Caseys in Streatham. He was the 1st and ONLY guy to really punch me, so hard that I was out cold, on my feet watching myself, outta body, just standing there in black and white hovering above the ring. He could really bang and after that I NEVER dropped my hands again and we had many great sparring sessions after that. I was there, Gary Mason,Hunter Cley,Wayne Alexander and a few other internatioal level Champions.I remember Lou Gent coming down to pick up his pay check after the Cley fight, about 6 months after Gent fought Benn. Great gym that sadly closed down due to people beeing shot and stabbed in the pub above. It opened again a few years ago with Lloyd Honeyghan doing the honours but once again, trouble started and it closed. GREAT days when I used to be young and SUPER fit!
He actually is coming back, although he is in his late 30's now I believe. Other posters can tell you more about his past, like Hairy, who has Simon in his avy.
Hairyhighlander - the guy that created this thread. Yeah, Simon is out of jail and is in training for his comeback.
Went up to to see that fight with all of Pauls fans. Although Paul lost it, it was a great fight and top night.
