The WBA has officially ordered GGG vs Jacobs

Hopefully this is the fight for the December HBO date. Jacobs is painted in a corner. No more excuses to get out of the fight. It is either make a deal or the fight goes to a purse bid.

Whatever happens it is GGG by savage KO. Jacobs is a Glass Jawed fighter.

It isn't going to be PPV on HBO. It is a World Championship Boxing broadcast date.

 

I like the whole PBC model, but it would have to be on NBC, and not up against Saturday night NFL games.

How does it generate a 3/1 purse high enough for Jacobs to lose his momentum.

IMO....even though I'd really love to see Jacobs scalp on GGGs resume....Jacobs would be best served, dropping his WBA minor title, and fighting on.
He's young enough to make another title run when GGG moves N for the Zurdo and DeGale PPVs.

Do you understand business? Haymon has to pay to put on his time buy PBC cards. HBO pays a licensing fee to The promoter to put on the fight. Which would any sane businessman choose? This isn't going to be on the shitty PBC.

 

Good news! I really hope they will find a way to make this fight and not go to the purse bid.

 

Why would Haymon pay CBS, NBC, etc to put the fight on when HBO would be PAYING him?

Haymon's model is failing and he has been giving away tickets. Makes no sense to do it the way you are suggesting just for it to be on PBC. Haymon hasn't turned a profit on any PBC card yet and the ratings have been terrible.
