Would be great if this happened in December, followed by BJS in spring 2017.

Im saying that legacy-wise, Jacobs is a better scalp than is either Blanco or Heiland, and to NOT offer him a SOLID % like 35% would be a FINANCIAL duck, and IMO, a slap in the face of Jacobs or ANY top opponent.

Lemieux got something like %35-40 so I don't see why they wouldn't offer Jacobs a similiar deal.

Just a heads up for the casuals out there.

Jacobs does not end up signing to fight GGG.

GGG needs to find his next opponent from elsewhere.

    Jacobs is a punnani

It's got to be Jacobs/Lara/Khurtsidze/Eubank Jr or a non title fight with someone like DeGale, Smith, or Jack for the winter.

I dont think Lara would be happy with 1.5 mil against GGG
Didn t he get 1 mil for Zaveck ??

    I agree.
But Al Haymon's got to bring in some dough, and 30% of 1.5 mil for a fighter that he loses money on every time out........

Add to the fact that Jacobs could continue to win at MW and become a draw, even a star for a couple yrs......

Would be smarter for Haymon to throw Lara to wolves and preserve Jacobs record for the future opportunities vs his PBC stable.

Your right but I have a feeling that Lara is smart guy and will know that GGG will end him and he'll want to cash out.
He wont accept anything under 4 mil IMO

Last I heard Lara thought of himself as the best 154 er said he wants to break records at this weight

    What records though?

How many rds boxed at boxings historically weakest weight class? LMAO.

LMW is the quintessential pitstop of boxing.

As a fightfan of 35+ yrs, having followed the careers of Holmes, SRL, Hagler, Tyson, Chavez Jr, Sweat Pea, ODLH, Pac, Castillo, the K2, etc etc Ive never in all my life seen fighters make a mark at LMW.

FW, LW, LWW, WW, MW, LHW and HW are the divisions that make legacies.

CW has finally began to hold onto talent but that's only been since Toney v Jirov, and even now, with it stacked with greats, isn't considered a top stop for boxings elites.

Hearns is likely the greatest LMW of all time, and PWilly, had he not suffered such a tragedy, would probably be an ATG today if that fateful moment in time had not happened.

But honestly, how can Lara want to break records, and hold onto something that isnt even there.

Canelo is the #1 LMW atm, and he's only holding onto that b/c he can't boil down to WW, and knows he's likely #4-#5 at MW.
And if Lara were smart......he'd beg Haymon to feed him to GGG.
Cause he aint gonna get that money to be beaten to a pulp by Brook. No chance Oscar pays him again, and JZ aint gonna feed Cotto to him.

GGG is his best chance at more than Zaveck type money. Cause Haymon can not financially continue to pay him for his abysmal 5K crowds, and his 300K views on free tv.

I'd throw Andy Lee's and Groves' names in there as well.

I think GG wins, but I want to see how GG deals with a MW who is truly his size, with speed and power. GG could very well end the fight early with one of those hooks or he can get hit by a Jacobs right hand and we would find out what kind of chin GG has.
