  1. ! Wladimir Klitschko is the legitimate WBA Heavyweight Champion !

    On August 27.

Good 2 weeks to go. Give me your votes.

    Who will be the New

    Champion of the world!?

Dont get me wrong, this is a great matchup for the todays Heavyweight division. It just should be an Eliminator and not a WBA Title fight.

"Alright now speaking of Alexander Povetkin he will be going for the WBA regular belt. In your opinion what does this belt mean if Alexander even wins it?

STEWARD: I think it’s a disgrace to boxing, not just because of this because it’s the heavyweight division. When you have a world champion and then you’re coming up and creating another world champion. I thought I was the world champion? No, we just gave you a title. You’re the super champion, or you’re the platinum champion. Boxing is so confusing with four major boxing bodies and four champions, and now you’re going to start splitting it up and having two world champions in the same weight and same organization. It’s totally a joke and it’s an embarrassment to boxing. There is so much confusion that if I wasn’t just in boxing at the level I was, just as a general fan in the public, I wouldn’t have any interest any more. There is too much confusion already. You were the WBA champion. Povetkin wouldn’t fight Wladimir Klitschko because he never thought he was ready, so they created a situation where he can still fight and be world champion without fighting Klitschko and they did the same thing in the WBC where they gave it to Julio Cesar Chavez Junior and they created a situation where he could be a world champion without fighting a world champion. If we continue to do this, boxing is having its problems already except maybe for just the super fights, this doesn’t help us at all."

  2. I think we have a good possibility on a Draw in this high calibre WBA Championship fight.

Both are based in Germany, both are no Knockout artists. Both are almost on the same level. Povetkin has a slight age advantage but less experience.

    Im predicting a Draw.

Chagaev is only decent now, he's a shell of what he was. Despite the Curious Case of Alexander Povetkin, I'm thinking AP should win this pretty clearly.

It'd be best for the division if Povetkin wins- I don't think there would be any buzz for a Chagaev-Wlad rematch no matter how good he looks vs Povetkin. If Sasha looks good, at least you've got an unbeaten, top 5 heavyweight contender with a little bit of history between the two as an opponent.

I think Povetkin wins this pretty wide on the cards.

I wouldn't even think about betting on this fight--too many variables and we haven't seen either guy fight for a while.

There must be a good reason why the buzz favors Povetkin to win this thing but I believe Chagaev will come to fight. There may be some extra incentive for Chagaev (maybe a fight with Helenius if he can beat Povetkin) and that may be sufficient motivation for Chagaev to show up strong.

  8. Holy **** I just noticed Chagaev is only 1 year older than Povetkin.

    Povetkin is 31, Chagaev 32.

Povetkin must have really missed his best days after canceling 2 fights with Wladimir Klitschko.

    That too. :good

A good commission would've told Haye to **** off for wanting to defend against a pathetic joke like Fraudley.

Povetkin probably by a fairly close decision, a few years ago and Chagaev would stop Sasha imo.

I'm thinking Povetkin but I'd love to see Chagaev knock his ass out
