it seems that the WBA is the worst heavyweight belt out there as the last respectable title fight was back in 1999 with lonnox and evander two
and another things theres 2 WBA champions WTF

Which is a pity since the WBA is in terms of linearity THE descendent of the old undisputed belt of the past. Now its been tarnished by Sauerland and it's ManBearPig monstrosity.

That being said it's not as if the WBC or IBF are any better anymore. **** all these belt organizations.

they're all the same. each with their own disgraces at different weight classes. look at the wbc trying to make maskaev a mandatory...or the ibf handing thier belt to judah what seemed like a dozen times....etc...it goes on and on. these sanctioning bodies have no authority

The WBA always seem to have a few dodgy 'contenders' on their rankings list and make it easy for their champs to avoid hard fights (look at Kessler or Felix Strum).
The regional bodies they're affiliated to, like the EBA, aren't always highly regarded and they give out ranking places to people who win those belts. That's one of the things they do that makes for a lot of **** title fights.
I'd say they are slightly worse than the other bodies, even if they all have they're faults as well.

im sorry butler i hav to disagree with that

the worst belt out there is clearly the wbo crap strap. although the wba is ridiculous itself like having 3 champs in one division like thay did with the 115 pound division its still not as corrupt as the warren boxing organization

The WBA has seemed to get alot worse since the introdution of the "Super" Champion. It was an audacious way for them to make further sanctioning fee`s and simply made the entire title landscape even worse. There champions these days seem to be just as weak as the WBO.

Yep they have sunk to a great low. Shame since when Holyfield beat Tyson for this belt in 1996, it was perhaps the most prestigeous belt at heavyweight.

Then a number of events devalued it:

Lewis was stripped for not fighting Ruiz
Holy won over unworthy contender Ruiz
    Ruiz actually became champion
Ruiz got a gift draw against Holyfield
Ruiz won a gift DQ over Johnson
    Jones dumped the belt
Ruiz won it back in a sloppy hugging match with Rahman
Ruiz got a gift against Golota
Toney was stripped of the belt for steroid use
Valuev won it by winning a disputed decision vs Ruiz after winning a disputed eliminator
Valuev got a cheap win when McCline injured himself
Valuev and Ruiz (two former crap champions) fight for the belt yet again
Valuev gets a gift decision over an ancient and past it Holyfield

And note that Kali Meehan is the #1 contender for the belt at this point.

Oh yeah and the super champion thing is really bad just like this situation with Valuev and Chagaev both being defined as champions at the same time.

We need Chagaev to come back and do to Valuev what he did the first time.

You are shocked by what a detailed post I wrote or by how badly the WBA belt has been devalued?

Ruiz will be mandatory challenger for the winner of Chagaev vs Valuev II.
