The WBC about to give the title back to Hopkins

If you watch the gif Dawson was trying to grab Pascal's waist, but Pascal denied that and Dawson ended up holding Pascal's leg. That's perfectly clear, you can see Pascal hitting Dawson on top of the head which forced Dawson to hold onto his leg.

The situation with Hopkins is different, and I don't need to explain that.

 

No surprise. I'm sure B-Hop will be happy not to have a TKO on his official record but other than that, the reversal doesn't mean a whole lot. Dawson will still face Pascal, with or with the title, and who really knows what Hopkins will choose to do next.

 

If Hopkins did in fact quit in order to get out of the fight,then he will not want a rematch.However,after watching the "tackle"on youtube(I did not order the PPV)I think its it is pretty clear that the injury is clear.Hopkins past was held aganist him.If Hopkins was faking it,how can he so effortlessly start grimising at the exact momment of the elbow landing?I could understand pepole thinking he quit if he was being dominated for more than half the fight,but this thing thing didnt even go 2 rounds!!Hell,he lost the first 2 rounds in both Pascal fights,that didnt mean he was on his way to losing now does it??!I think Dawsons size,reach,boxing ability,height and speed would be too much for Hopkins in a rematch.For a fight with this much competitive signifigance to end like this,the fans really would be getting cheated if there were no rematch.And for the record it should not be PPV!!!

 

There IMO should be a rematch. Hopkins IMO quit. His injury I dont believe is serious and is either false/fake or grossly exaggerated. Hopkins tried to get out of that fight on a DQ for Dawson so he could keep his belt.

If the belt does get handed back to Hopkins I reckon Dawson WILL want a rematch!! He'll go ape if he feels that the ACTOR has robbed him.

So the fight ended on a non boxing move causing injury. Do a rematch and clear up this mess and bring this to a fair conclusion. If Hopkins wants his belt the fight should be made. Was Dawson his mandatory? Well if he was then bring this to a conclusion. If Hopkins gets away with his belt being gifted back to him and doesnt have to fight Dawson then that IMO is a travesty to the sport of boxing.

Sorry but I dont buy Hopkins as a genuine fair honest guy. He's a cheat IMO. No wonder Calzaghe dry humped him when he cried foul. Shame on Hopkins.

 

Dawson's fans will be irate. Both of them.

This. Hopkins had no business on Dawson's back and MAJORITY boxers IMO would have got him the **** off.. It's Hopkins, I'm sure all his opponents have the mentality that he's going to do whatever he can get away with and Dawson wasn't having it. Doubt Chad was trying to end the fight with that, just ****ed situation all over. His leg was clearly up before Dawson's hand went back there, if you can't see that you're being bias in this situation... What Dawson did was illegal as well, and it sucks the match ended with it... Had Hopkins continued I doubt anyone would be giving it anywhere near this much attention, people are just upset it ended the fight (rightfully so). If Hopkins wants his belt back the and they powers that be want to grant him this, they should make them rematch. Not really fair to either fighter to lose the title or title shot because of what happened. Both ****ed up. Another bad night for boxing.

This is a little too cut and dry.

You bend at the waist from a cross and a guy is going to either wind up on your back due to momentum or jump on your back for defensive purposes. The Klits do it all the time and nobody cares. Khan did it to Judah repeatedly and there was not a word. People complain about FMJ bending at the waist. It goes with the territory.

Problem is the "toss off" ended the fight. Neither man did anything wrong in the spirit of Boxing, but Chad did worse as it ended the fight.

 

Dawson broke the rules of boxing. It's boxing, not judo or wrestling!
